I know it's not a model A, but Tuck posted his adventures on the ice last year. Cool pic's of his 34? out there on the lakes.
Did that from about 74 to 2005. Honda, VWs, Saabs, Subaru Beaters were the weapon of choice for road racing style in Central NY. 80 to 90 MPH on the ice is a hoot...... My Civic Si running down the AWD Subaru.
Where was that in central NY might I ask... somehow I never heard of it. That could be waaayy to much fun.
For Ice racing in central NY contact the CNYIRA. Races are held where ever there is 12 inches of ice. Cl***es include street (no real car prep necessary other than rear facing Halogen fog light and DOT tires) up to roll cage equiped cars running on special Ice racing tires. Lake in question is Wanetta on the ridge above Watkins Glenn. Caroga lake is used by the Adirondak Motor Enthusiats Club out of the Albany area. Our venues have included Oneida Lake, Otisco Lake, Sandy Pond, Wanetta, and Honeoye Lake. Everthing you wanted to know is at http://www.cnyira.com/
