Just couldn't wait to see what this will look like on the car so I pulled off the alt. and bolted on the paxton bracket and set the paxton in it. Looks like everything is going to fit fairly well except the fins on the edelbrock valve covers are too close to the blower inlet flange.

P.S. if anyone has a picture or a part number for the strange 3 rib belt that is used on this, please let me know. Thanks.

You sure it's not 3 "A" section belts?. Paxton can help you,why don't you just give them a phone call and ask? .

paxton quit supporting anything but the Novi series. I've tried emailing the company that they sold all the old stuff too, but havent tried calling them yet. it is something like sunset performance or something.

I think that's the name of the company that has the older paxton stuff.

That drive pully looks like it takes 3 v belts.

Talk to Metalshapes. He's got some experience with them.

The weak link on those is the ball drive. There isn't enough oil circulation for high spring pressure and high boost, and the balls get trashed. That's frequently the reason the blower was removed 50 years ago - expensive rebuild. Google around for John Erb, Studebaker etc. for comments.

Yeah I know about the rebuild costs, and the ball drive, but I don't plan on it making 500hp or anything. I'm not going to push it to it's limit either. It's just a little something extra. I've searched all over the web for info.. Jake has one on his Studebaker wagon, but I don't think he's on here anymore. He used to work for Erb.

The 6psi or whatever is stock is all I am going to run.

    VERY ****in cool

i'd agree with three single belts. seen that kinda setup before but cant recall where... maybe at BTT50's last sumer and it had three single drive belts on it

  15. You need what is referred to as "matched strand V-belts" since all 3 will have to stretch at the same rate, as they do not have individual tensioners. If you find an industrial supply house near where you live, they should have a "gauge" that fits into the pulley grooves to know what cross section your V-belts should be. I used to buy "matched strand V-belts for conveyor drives from "Gates Rubber Co."---Brian

I'm running three v-belts on my roots type blower. Not matched but the same size off the shelf. No problems so far.

Fiddy!!! Good to see you posting! Life settling down?

they look to be narrower than your average v-belt. I have plenty of time to figure it out. There are alot of things to get done before worrying about adding more power.
