so I am trying to fill in the 08 calender and I am wondering what are the best shows to be a vendor............ for ME - I have to have a lot of people - so doing the shows where about 50 cars show up - I may not do so well at.................... I was also wondering about the: Jan 18-20 Wichita KS Darryl Starbird show I know it is a smaller show - how many people usually show up to this show?
Get down to John's Picnic in Melbourne(Australia)....bout 2000 cars parked in every nook and cranny of an old Horce racing track Not afraid of a little travel are ya?????????
The Hunert car pile-up was great - but it's a one day deal. The Hot Rod Reunion is back in Bowling Green KY this year, and I'll bet it's gonna be busting at the seams.
My 3 favorite shows are the Rust Revival, the Minneapolis Messaround and Back to the 50's...good luck filling out your calendar...
hunnert car Rust Revival and hopefully the drags is what i am going to make it to this coming year. After this years pileup being my first year i won't miss it again Rust revival I have to go to because it's Todd's show and the town Wayland is something to see
And we loved having you Greg (it was those other wisconny guys we didn't like, bunch of lousy drunks) hahaha...I have yet to make it to hunnert, since it's on a major swap meet weekend...
WTF? The one to not miss period is the HAMB Drags.... but the Lonestar Roundup, the Jalopy Showdown, are up there as well.
Back to the 50's in Saint Paul Mn in June 11,000 entrants and 60,000 spectators over 3 days Cars range from Stock to high end Billitmobiles and everything in between.
StrayKat 500 in Dewey, The Krawl , Lonestar round up in Austin ,KKOA in Salina ,thems on my "can't miss list"
the minneapolis messaround hosted by the lucky *******s, around a hundred cars and growing and no frilly anything, good music planned and good atmosphere, then like jim said back to the 50's is the ultimate power park n cruise around, i am hoping to make the rust revival in wayland this year and in the next few years make the hunnert car and the hamb drags, the hunnert is the same weekend as a huge swap out here in the twin cities so i dont usually juggle the two yet, the number one on my list when the 34 is road worthy and if it is still around is rockabilly weekend in vegas, seems like a good break in run for it.
took the Buick to the hop in Ft. Scott this year also, Not a big turn out but great show none the less. --- John
if i were rich...or had denises job, id hit them all! but....most likely..... our show [duh] gg's desmoines [cause ive never been] bombers show in stl hamb drags, rock n rods [bloomington and of course, the pileup im sure im missin some, or will miss some on my list[ being a **** start really keeps me hoppin] but imma try to get to those at least! ohh, and if all goes to plan the s**** drive and then messaround
The show in the west coast you can't miss in "Hot Rod Reunion" "Primer Nationals" "Back to the Beach" "Mooneyes Christmas Show" "Viva Rockabilly weekender" "L.A. Roadster Show" plus all the open house "Hollywood Hot Rods" ect. To much to list but its all year round in these areas.
In California: GNRS Primer Nats Back to the Beach LARS Billetproof Santa Maria(new Paso) Mooneyes BBQ Mooneyes X-mas Party March Meet(Famoso) Hotrod Reunion(Famoso) Goodguys Del Mar(I know...but it's a good show) Hollywood Hotrods Openhouse SoCal Openhouse NHRA Twilight Cruises Did I miss any?
I would recommend: Held the same weekend a few miles apart: September 25-28, 2008 James Dean Run - Fairmount, Indiana Ducktail Run - Gas City, Indiana Both have very, very large crowds. You could also do the Rebel Run in Lima, Ohio the week before. A lot of vendors follow that routine.
Alan from Billetproof told us that about 300 people have told him they were at the first Billtproof in CA... But there was only about 50 cars there. Here's your chance to ACTUALLY be at the first FL Billetproof, March 22, 2008, Garlits Museum in Ocala, FL. I'd go there... Wait a minute, I AM going there.
Road Rocket Rumble yes! Gotta "REPRESENT" Ohio: Dragway 42 Rock n' Race in West Salem OH at historic Dragway 42!
Starbird's show usually has a real good turnout. Last year it snowed like the north pole and there was still a lot of people there. Of course, I'm not a vendor.
Want to take a ride to California, come to Midnight M*** July 26th. Drew +400 cars and 5 -6k spectators.
