Finally got the Lincoln back on it's feet, and i love the stance... Put a four link on the rear, which was a particular challenge due to the fact that it's a unibody. Removed the stock leaf springs and it required boxing the rear under pocket w/ plate steel to give solid supports to build/mount off of. Required slight cutting behind the re****at area (that i'm fixing so that the rear seat fits back as normal) and rebuild of the rear of the tunnel. Front was pretty straight forward bag job w/ custom built cups. Here's it's stance: Rear bags are Continentals and the front are Slam Specialties. I havent plumbed yet, but it'll have dual tanks & compressors.) Here's the motor I built... mild cam, later year 4 barrel intake, Edelbrock carb, electronic ignition under stock distributor and will do a mild rumble exhaust. By the way, one of the positives of having low cars is being able to fit one on top the other in the normal height garage Put in two solid 10 hour days in the garage this weekend, and I LOVE IT. -scott noteboom
Holy **** Scott that rules!!! you have way to many cool toys dude!! coming down for the Mooneyes show this saturday??
Yeah, it's a '66 Ghia (my wifes.) I like VWs too... No, not going to be able to make it down this year-- work Christmas party and Road Zombies party same day. I'll make it down again soon though. See ya. -scott noteboom
This could be the fact that I grew up with movies like Animal House, but I dig the Hell out of that car. NICE!
i can see it.... with the confedarate flag on the roof. being a convertible, i could decide to fly the flag up or down depending on the neighborhood, for my own safety now that's influential... -scott noteboom
Yeah, i'll definately post a lot of fab pics when i get it done. Right now i just have the upper 4 link mounts on the rear end just tacked in, as well as the lower bag mounts on the rear end. i wont finish welding those completely until i get the transmission in the car-- so i can ensure my pinion angle estimate is right on. Now i gotta work on the missing transmission problem (if you have one, PM me.) The motor staring at me on the stand still is driving me nuts... thanks for the nice words folks. in addition to putting thought behind wheel / tire combo, im also working on smoothing some things out on the body (front emblem and door handles.) -scott noteboom
it ABSOLUTELY is going to be a great cross country cruiser!! And, it MUST someday take itself and me back to our places of birth in Michigan... :-D -scott noteboom
I've gotten a little tired of Contis but I like yours. Your going to enjoy that on warm summer days...:kool:
Looking good. Those 60s Lincolns ride so amazing. I cruised a black '67 4dr Continental all this past summer. Yours looks even sweeter slammed.
