mine was a red fisher price car. you know, the one with the yellow roof? might have been playschool brand, but maaaaan, i loved that thing, my parents couldn't get me out of it. They knew that if something was missing around the house, i had probably stashed it in the trunk of my red car haha

    happy holidays!

    from nowhere...

Hess trucks were where it was at!
however, my "Green Machine" was bad ***...I rode it down the stream, into the river, and it got hung up btwn. the two sides of the concrete bridge over Rt. 55. It floated like 5 miles...I never could retrieve it, but, I did stare at it from the roadway bridge for a half a season before it dislodged, and floated further downstream, never to be seen again...it was kick-***, though...

ALL my H.O. gauge train additions, too...that stuff was always welcome...

A mechanical pocket watch. One year mom comes to me with the Sears wish book and asks "if you could only have one present this year...". That was a rough year. Dad was allowed to drive the rig to the bank, but he needed a ride back.:( Work was slim at best. In the '80's a lot of people up here were in bad shape. I was @ 15-16 at the time. Still remember the look in mom's eyes. My wife and I vowed to never have to have that conversation with our kids...

Still have the watch in a safe place. Doesn't work anymore, except as a memory.
