'27 Track T pictures

Here are a few shots of what I accomplished this week:

Got the front wheels mounted:


The front grille bars are actually '67 Mustang bumper guards turned upside down:




This might be considered the same as Rocket Olds valve covers on a small block Chevy, but I liked the look of the snout on the old Ford "Banjo" rear ends, so I machined a set of Ford hubs to fit between the drum and the wheel.



I built a rear bumper out of 1" tubing, mounted the '39 ford tail lights, and installed the Mopar gas cap:

 

What are those wheels exactly?

 

Let me be the first to say NICE CAR. You should be driving in no time.

 

Neat looking project. What are the centers out of on the wheels? I don't recognize them. I guess wht I'm asking is,what are the wheels?

They are Chrysler Cordova 15" x 6" aluminum wheels turned around backwards. I blasted the centers and brushed the wheels.

Holy cow...that is some awesome work. Quit hiding your light under a barrel. And next tech session how about sharing (if you have photos) what you did with your wheels.

Thanks for posting your work, it's well thought out and executed- there are tons of those "gee, why didn't I think of that" kind of details!

I agree with damnfingers- you would help many of us out with some tech posts!!!

 

That is shaping up to be a really nice track car.
I would suggest making up a floor for the nose cone which would run up to the top front of the frame to direct the air into the radiator core. Paint it and inside of the cone black and it will be functional and cosmetic since it hide the front end components. One of the hardest things to do for cooling with a nose cone is to get the air to the radiator core.
Of course, if you have an good electric puller fan mounted on the abck of the radiator this is not so necessary.

 

It was pretty freakin' inspiring to see your car at the show this weekend. Talk about top notch craftsmanship and ingenuity! Your decades of race car building definitely shines through in your work. Oh yeah, good looking "groupies" you had around you at the show!

wow, with all that reinforcement in that ch***is I don't know how you kept the restraint to not add a couple of bars from the cowl hoop to the front frame horns!

Here is a shot of the interior, which is basic aluminum and will have very little upholstery.

 

Nice job. Getting room for 3 pedals and a fairly large driver is a real challenge in track roadsters and You have done well.

Aye caramba! That's them! El Chuco is actually The Chuck in Spanish. I think you need to take this car down to the '08 Roundup where it can be appreciated by those in the know (park at my sister's pad). You'll surely become aware that you've built a friggin' masterpiece (and people won't ask you if it's a Cobra kit car).
