Actually, I have a pair of them too. Ha Ha Ha Clark and Junior, where are the pics of the stash you drug home???? Mine are still in the trailer, I hope to get them out on Saturday.......
Did any of you guys get pics of the 32 cabriolet that was under the pile? I could see that there was a car under there, but I just wasn't willing to tunnel in.
i heard about the auction but i'm broke so i didnt go . where in indiana was it at? if i can find some more pics of the muntz, i'll try drawing up some concepts of it.
Aaron you just love seeing pictures of yourself with your thumb up your ass and your gay duo outfits on.
The Muntz is a way cool car..started out as a Kurtis-Kraft Sport of which 36 were built..Then Muntz bought the company, most were powered by the 331 OHV Cadillac V/8 or the Lincoln Flathead V/8..touted as "Americas First personal luxury sportscar" I still have an old Muntz stereo, the one with the little flipper switch from 4 to 8 track stereo...my book says that 49 of these cars survive out of 394 built approx. (it says that Earl "The Madman" lost track of how many he actually built)...the last version had fiberglas fenders...
LMAO I'm just wondering what kind of place they would go to that this is the thing to wear! Probably a place where guys wear yellow and pink and talk with a lisp. LOL
Did Mr. Munzt have anything to do with the Muntz's Apple Sauce in my fridge? Congrats on the car, and can't what to see what plowboy does with them dueces, hopefully he includes that thong in one of 'em......
Slam and Mr42...thanks for that link. I'd love to see a copy of the brochure they show. Nice detail shot of the frame ...just wish it was bigger. Clark
Clark, there is a Muntz in a So. Maryland junkyard. It is off 301 south of Waldorf. I haven't been there in a few years but I but it's still there....
I happened to stumble on to this picture while looking for xmas gifts.. a nice clean hot rod Muntz from: http://www.totallycustomcars.com/
I saw that a muntz is going up for auction in atlantic city on february 28th, it is being advertised as one of the highlight cars. http://www.acclassiccars.com/Borgata/index.html
I heard down at the Turkey Run you had picked up a Muntz. It is on my top 5 list of all time favorite cars, a 1950 Muntz. You are very lucky! A local guy restored a Kurtis for a guy for the past two years. He had to literally hand make the trim and then have it all chromed. He did an absolutely amazing job. I'm sure he would be happy to talk to you when you are ready. Here is the post about it here on the HAMB: http://www.jalopyjournal.com/forum/showthread.php?t=217292&highlight=kurtis As for the pics of the Muntz at the Petersen, are they recent? Back in March both Muntz Jets they had in the basement were in serious need of repair. I hope they are working on them. I LOVE these cars!
Congrats, Clark...Muntz' are cool ass cars. I didn't know about the auction and it's prolly a good thing. I'm selling off stuff instead of buying stuff right now but a HAMBers reunion would have been great to attend. Nice goin on the Deuces, Aaron....and get a fuckin shave! Naaaaa, it looks good on ya. I grow my stuff out every fall and shave it off most springtimes.
Man, that's a heck of a project to take on, but had I been in your place, I would have bought the darn thing, too! Here's a link to my photos from the Petersen Muntz event: http://www.flickr.com/gp/31963493@N00/H75U32
Thanks everybody! The candy Red one is nevy nice!!!! NoBody...you funny guy!!!!!! Megan..I hated missing Daytona but this made it worth it. Clark
No Clark, I'm jealous. Jealous that you have the car instead of me and you have the ability to make it look like something when you are finished.
NoBody....I'm going to have to pay a lot more attention at those metal meets to get it done. The hood is pretty far gone and even though they made glass hoods for them I'd like to do steel again. Clark
