Howdy. Just bought a new car. It's a 57 Ford Fairlane Coupe, that looks like it was customized long time ago. When the car came to Germany in the early 90's it had a set of old Rader wheels with redlines on. It has a 390 Ford from '63 and used to have a 4 speed by Hurst (now acruise o matic, cause they f... up the 4 speed) and a posi rear. I'm not sure if it is a original 60's Kustom, but it could be, 'cause the stuff that's done to it, is very 60's, and I'm not sure if the KKOA guys did build stuff like that in the 80's. Maybe redone it a bit, with a new interiour. (a older KKOA sticker is in one of the windows.) Yes the wheels are BULLSHIT!, but I just bought the car on Friday, and it will be shipped to me next week. The first thing to be changed will be them, and the reinstall of the cool tube grill. See the small picture. If anyone knows something about this car, or has an idea where I can find out about it, please tell me. Also do u have an idea where this bumpers did came from? (front: Corvette 58-62 maybe?) with tube grille:
Nice car. I love my '57 Ford - mainly because you really don't see very many of them at the car shows around here. Throw some lowering springs on that sucker, replace the rims and drive. Too bad the Radars still aren't on there! Looks like a solid car. Congrats on the purchase.
Front Bumper Looks Like 55 Pontiac.. Rear Maybe 60 Chev Ends Without The Center Bar... Some Early Ramblers Had Bumpers Like Those..my Guess
The car was built bt Art Riporti in Englishtown N.J.1989When it was done it was awesome. The car had wide whites,57 Caddys with white centers,a tube grille with stock directionals,no skirts, that dumb stripe was not there.Later,The car was traded to Jim "The Jersey Torch "McLaughlin .Hats off to you for looking at the car in this hurtin state and knowing that it was awesome. It wouldnt take much to bring it backJust lose the wheels and the stripe. The pic I took at the Englishtown drag strip will knock your fuckin socks off.If you call Jersey information Riportis Used Cars is listed.
Dig the car. Get rid of those wheels and that "lady in red" script on the back and you'll be good to go.
Cool!!! Thanks so much for the info! I like it when I know where my stuff comes from! The tube grill is on the smaller picture, and it will be reinstalled soon. I think old 5 Spokes will go on the Fairlane. Or Chrome reverse I like a lot. Can i see that picture u told me about, or any other pictures. Does this guy has a website, or mail adress? @Sarge: Come over! And bring me Skoal Wintergreen and cold american beer! Anyone information of this here? Also old built car that I found here in Germany.
Wow that thing is nuts. Art has some stuff I might want to buy, so if I head down to his place Ill bring along some pics of your 57 and ask him about it.
Very cool!!! Thanks! Say hi from me, and have a beer with him for me! Ask him also about the transmission. I'm not sure what 4 speed it used to be.
'57 Fords are my most favorite cars ever! Wide whites and dump the peep mirrors (it ain't a street rod) and that car would look just right.
Of course, do they have to go, too! U 'r right! The shipping company just picked it up! The company owner just phoned me if he could buy it, cause he likes it so much! I like the mirrors on my Nomad though, 'cause they are Handbuilt, and it's kinda cool on this car...
