Nice work! You kanucks are some crazy fuks!!! LOL Whittle whittle whittle away, and it WILL run some day!
Hey linc-glad to see you get some praise for such a great car!Top looks awesome, luvn' the manifold thoughts too.Keep the vision brother!Shaggn'
I was guessin' those were late 60's Eldo lights. But I'd like to know what this car is going to have for taillights, too. Very nice work, good intake tech.
...thanks for the comments...really appreciate the input Re: Ufab A few years ago I contacted Royce Baechler (sp?) in Wisconsin and bought a Ufab from him...(he is a Lincoln 368 guru)...it is a very crude piece and later I decided to 'upgrade' from four carbs to six with the Olds intake and adapter..... the old Ufab (sorry about the bad pic)... The intake reference earlier regarding the high or low rise came from this.....some intakes sit kind of squat with the 'log' down close to the head (to save underhood height, I guess). With the Weiand in the first pics, the log is elevated on slightly longer runners and you can access the bolt holes easily. With the lower model it would be difficult to alter the bolt holes, in my opinion, because the bolts actually go through the log chamber itself. Just wanted to mention that in case somebody else wanted to try it..... The tailights were originally intended to be late 70's Olds (as I understood it from the previous owner) and I've hated those 'beaks' since I got it -but didn't have a good alternative. It's really weird, but after the chop (5" in front, 7" in rear) the visual proportions of the car changed entirely and the beaks don't look quite as stupid and seemed to fit in a 'badass' kind of way. I'm now inclined to cut them off and fill the fenders and go with taillights in the bumper guards like the early customs...... bgbdlinc
I'm now inclined to cut them off and fill the fenders and go with taillights in the bumper guards like the early customs...... bgbdlinc[/QUOTE] I think the proportions of the roof are perfect.Im thrilled to hear the above quote. If your in a apinch and need to drive the car, those extensiona are made for L.T.D. or a Linmcoln. When you cut those off Yiur car will be a ground breaking, unique early tyle sled that will really shake the troops. It kicks ass no matter what.
On chop day last summer, I had help from alot of talented guys i.e HAMBER 'Fast Elvis' as the tapeman.... and about 24 very critical eyes... ....and quite frankly, when the sweet-spot was reached, it took my breath away...... bgbdlinc
Huh, I don't remember seeing engine pics on our other meeting place. Keeping secrets, Linc? I'm tellin'.
Really nice job. Is there any way you could curve the top of the skirts and flush mount them to "go with the flow" of the body? Not criticizing, just wondering since , right now. I kinda like it better without the skirts.
This is the only time I have seen this style Lincoln chopped that I really like the outcome. It is amazing that the newer frame is so close in dimension. Can't wait to see the finished piece. It is good that it wasn't lunch time or your 24 critics would be chewing BBque.
...many thanks for the kind words....a fellow HAMBer indicated that this thread was resurrected which surprised the hell out of me! Here is a general update on stuff that has been done during the past year: chopped top roughed in; rear fenders 'capped'; taillights installed; bumpers reversed front to back; bumper supports and splash-pans done; grille modified; hood pie-cut and shortened...... I've got detailed pics for the top stuff and the fender work. The hood stuff may make it into a 'Tech' piece if I can organize the pics..... This is what I started with a year ago after the famous chop and before the famous tape job above: Rear views: bgbdlinc
Hi mate ,ahh the memories !!! she is looking so sweet , keep it up . Are you up for a reunion of the few next year ! ,Fast Elvis you out there mate !
What a great project the concept is a show stopper. The 6X2 logs with 94's works great with 52 jets and no squirters hooked up on the outers. I used the orginal EELCO linkage and modifiedto a 75% on 2 100% on 6 setup. I found brass bushings in the rod slides to be the only way to get the throttle smooth. Makes the car corner and street well (the T2 is on the street in AZ) and jump like a shot at coyote when you romp it. I have found cam to be a big influance on the off idle. need to have 8 - 10 " or the power valves play with you.
