I don't think I have ever heard of anyone using Edelbrock mufflers, but for that price I would be interested to see how they preform.

    NEVER again ...

I tried a set on my 32 Roadster ... they both leaked ... around where the ****** was expanded to the body ( by Edelbrock ) during the manufacturing process ... called Edelbrock ... they said tough luck .. it was a fluke ... found a BRAND NEW set exactly like mine @ Charlotte AutoFair swap meet ... cheap ... never been used ... ( fellow said he went with Flowmasters after he bought the Edlebrocks ... and before he installed them ) ... :)

My exhaust is stainless steel tubing ... and I did not want to change it so I then installed the new swap meet Edelbrocks ... same deal ... they leaked ...

They leaked so bad that the area around the joint would get stained from the exhaust leaking thru. ( Just like the first set )

So I found a set of Flowmasters that would fit my stainless exhaust with very little modification ... and NO leaks ... but they are a little noisy for a old man like me ... :D

I just bought 4,although not the stainless. I figure for 23 bucks, it was worth a try. You can't even get cheap old Hush Thrush for that.

Those Edelbrock mufflers must be made in China. Just more cheap *** overpriced ****. I know for a fact that Edelbrock has their valve covers made in Chinkland. I know I'm going to catch hell for saying this but I don't give a damn what other people think anyway. I absolutely refuse to buy any of that overpriced **** Edelbrock sells!

So if I paid the 112 dollar MSRP then they would be better?

Can you please elaborate? They claim they are 100% made in USA. I gained respect for them over the past few years after they marketed their resistance to outsourcing.

Unless you have a contract that you sold your own soul for, you can tell the details. Please tell us.

btw John, any relation to Pete -the one with great ***s?

I had a set of Edelbrock script valve covers for a SBC ... no PVC holes ... and it had cast into the bottom side of the valve cover ... Made in Japan

They were old ... I had them since the mid 70's and I did not buy them new ... I know Edelbrock has casting and machining facilities California ... but who knows where everything comes from NOW ??

We used to buy Edelbrock mufflers by the thousands at my old job. We put them under LLV Postal Service mail trucks. Edelbrock won the contract one year and that's what we got. Good stuff, not loud at all.

Hmmm, well I went through their plant and saw them being made and I wasn't in China:D, granted that was about 2 years ago.

Unless you've been to their facilities in Torrance, or their foundry in Hemet, I don't think you have a fair opinion. I've listened to Vic Jr on several occasions and the impression I have is that he's sincere about his desire to help keep products made here. If anyone cares I can try putting up an interview done with him recently.
