Lookin for some ideas Specificly chanelled 2" or 3" inches until the frame and T-deck touch in the rear like Phil Weiand's on pg 76 of "The birth of hotrodding" book Not really looking to hide the Whole frame.
I think if you were looking to channel a '27 over '32 rails you'd better plan it so you're sitting between the rails. Otherwise it will look like a clown car with your entire torso about the car's body.
It was a cl***ic Southern California track roadster-it had great company: McGrath's, Rathman's, etc. Keep one thing in mind: Those cars looked great and the driver wasn't sticking out too far but he was sitting in the middle with his **** a couple inches off the torque tube and his feet down in the belly pan. If you'll never want anybody in the car with you, you can build it the same way.
If you can gain access to them try: 1) Don Montgomery's Hot Rods as They Were, 2) **** Wallen's Roaring Roadsters-The Road to Indy, 3) Tom Medley/Tex Smith's Hot Rod History (Vol's I & II), and Don Radbruch's Roaring Roadsters (Vol's I & II).
