Well, kinda... I was going to try and keep this a secret until I pulled into the Joplin Ramada next year, but I CAN'T STAND IT NO MO'!!! 1957 (British Ford) Thames 300E Van already set up with S-10 frame and SBC, narrowed Ford 9" rear Not even in my driveway yet, but I will be gettin' my ass to Iowa to haul it home when the ice melts. Brits, I'm gonna need some help finding trim & patch panels on this one, and they might be hard to come by, I've read there was only 9,000 of these made from '51 to '57 Nuttin' like "stupid" power under a super-lightweight, borderline uncontrollable chassis - oh yeah... here's a shot of one I like the looks of.
awesome!!!! my grandpa owned one when he first got his license, and later sold it to my grandmas brother. they live next door to each other and my brother now lives in my grandparents house and watches as the poor thing rusts away. i hope to get it back one day and stuff a big a$$ motor in it and race!!!! he also has an early BMW like steve urcles...i want that too!!!!
My Grandad had one of those pretty awesome little van. The floor boards were rotted out and you got soaked when you went over puddles. But I loved it anyway. Nice find
that thing will be so badass it could kick the shit outta chuck norris, ahnold, and charles bronson combined!
cat's out of the bag now Greg! let me know what kind of parts you might need...looks like you'll be collecting for a while
Yeah, I'm going to try my damndest to take this build slow... I always get in a rush. I want to do it as "right" as I can. Gotta teach myself to weld, that's for sure.
Whoa, that is sick. One seater I assume? My silly ass is gonna try and squeeze the wife and kid seats in there too... but I'm a retard.
Cool Greg, Looks like I'll have someone to run in my front engined Corvair. Lets shoot for Joplin '09 shall we? Good score. GV
