Any closeups of the Mig or F-86 in no. 10? I never knew bombers had a Bud Light top turret either! [IMG]

Sure did enjoy your pictures. They reminded me of growing up and moving with my dad all over the country when he was in the Air Force. He was a bomber pilot during WWII starting in B-17's in Europe and finished the war in B-29"s bombing Japan. Reentered the Air Force in 1951 and flew B-29's again before going to B-47's and finally flying B-52's until he retired. Thanks for jogging those old memories.

Is this plane Russian?Looks like a YAK but not sure which model.

  8. #25 is a two-seat Brit. Hawker Sea Fury, or just a plain Fury if it came through Iraq. Re-engined with a 3350 and four-blade prop.

  16. Thanks DooWop

To bad the Photo's can't capture the noise and smell of those wonderful aircraft!!! [IMG]

The plane in the forefront of Picture #18 is Capt. Ed Hoersch's 1952 Fairy Firefly.

It's the only one flying Firefly in the world..., since the Brit's had lost theirs.

I've seen this bird at Oshkosh and got to know Ed and the crew. He had a flat at Waukesha Airport enroute to Reno and my friend who owns a P51 helped with a wing jack and tools.

I met up with him at Reno and he told me that they are going to recover a P40 from the bottom of a lake in China!

    Another "Holy Grail" story!!! [IMG]

    Cool stuff

    Thanks for the pics!

The restoration I am anxiously awaiting is the P-61 in M***achusetts. It is #4 in existence and will be the only one flying.
