I bought some really neat lights with leads at a swap meet that I want to use as PRNDL indicators, etc. !2 volts does not seem to light them up.

Does anyone know of a nondestructive way to test if they might be for 110v and useless for my intended purpose??

    Maybe military or commercial 24V?

  3. Are they LEDs or filament type bulbs? If they're LEDs, they only work one way (+/-), if so try switching the + and - leads.

Thanks, I'll try that. But they register zero resistance with an ohmmeter. Wouldn't that indicate a filament??

They are such neat looking with a chrome bezel. I bought them at a car swap meet so wouldn't you think??

If they register 0 ohms that means the bulbs are burned out, a filament will have a resistance, that is how they work.

that's backwards, a working filament will have a very low (not quite zero) resistance, and a burned out filament will have infinite resistance.

    Pictures help!
