This must be a challenge cause I don't see any Art. This car may be rare but I think it's ugly it's just too round. It's in need of a grill and less bumper and something has to be done to the headlights. The windshield is the coolest part of the car but to me looks like it should be chopped and maybe layed back a little. The square look in the wheel well opening could be radiused or reworked to look better without the skirts but I think the skirts look best so far.

I really hope someone can make me change how I feel about this car because I'd like to enjoy helping Clark build this. Sorry Clark but I don't like your Muntz and it's uglying up my yard.

Now lets see someone make this thing COOL.

  13. That's what makes it a challenge! I can see how it might be a bit of an ugly duckling.. but someone will make it cool.

Now.. less jibberjabber.. more ART! :D

ugly duckling? I wouldn't change a thing on that first shot, that's a nice lookin' car... but then again I once drove a Lime Green Rampage, and was proud of it.

    Nice one, SUHRsc!

Now i am not a huge fan of angle-sliced headlights, like i see more and more on current customs. But in this case i must reckon they fit perfectly, in fact they should have been present on the original design. In this car, personality refuses to stick. It trickles down like raindrops from its overcurved surfaces.

And the Caddy grille is a nice touch. And the new bumper too. Conventional yes, but good taste, unlike the original braces.

  19. I saw a bunch of those freaky red hat cult ladies running across the street last night, kinda thought about the pics of the Muntz here.

'58 Packard hawk snout, extended front wheelwell, chopped and red leather int.

This is a very hard one to do. One of the troubles with Photoshop is that you can shrink a grill to fit and it looks great, but it is a miniaturized version of the actual grill. Unless both the car and the grille are the same scale, it won't work. Having said that, the Cadillac grille looks great. This car is so unique it is not easy to do. Great work so far.

here is mine i dont have photo shop so i did it in paint ..

chopped it and added more bumper guards to give it the kustom teeth look.... shaved the lower trim on one and added one more piece to the other on to give it two pieces. i went for the more elegant kustom. What you think?

Dane looks cool. I'm gonna keep my opinions to a minimum til it's over. I don't want to influence you guys too much. I'd like to see what comes of this.

I´m surprised that there aren´t more people having a go at this one. I´m much more interested to try and create something unusual than I am to work over the same old Hot rodding cl***ics.

Anyway - the Muntz. I was also thinking about a road racer type influence, but when it comes down to it, this isn´t really that sort of car. So I backed it off a bit and just kept the Halibrand knock offs, to add a bit of the right racing flavour, and went for a Ferrari 250 type recessed grille, and shortened the hood, so that it looses its hump before it gets near the grille. Yes, the headlights are early VW, but I wanted to use a bigger lamp than what the car came with (they look too small) and also a laid back unit to fit the car better. They fit the description perfectly. I sent the bumpers back to Peterbilt, or wherever it was Muntz got them from. Hope you like.
