Racing History archive! You guys are gonna Sh*T

Okay this guy Mike just started at my real estate company. He is probably late 50's. He has a collection of over 40 vintage (pre 1940) motorcycles. We got to chatting.. His father was a photographer in So cal in the 1940's, 50's and 60's. He just brought in a 4inch stack of 8x10 photos his father took back in the day.

OMG! I am freaking out. I have to get my scanner working. These are amazing.

*Balboa Stadium Midget Racing
*Balboa Stadium Stock Cars
*Del Mar Championship Race 1949
*Paradise Mesa Drag Races - I believe this is one of the first Official Drag race events for the San Diego Timing Association.

I plan to scan these and share with you in the near future.

He has thousands of photos.

Very cool. A real treasure. If he has the negs, have him make sure they are stored properly. The same with any prints. Does he have any road racing from that era? Torrey Pines, Gillespie Field?

Three decades of photographic goodness. Don't limit yourself to just the racing pics if you can, theres lots of interesting stuff to be seen. Get yourself a photobucket account or a flickr account (if you use yahoo, you've already got one). Then us oglers can see the hi res goodness. =-)
