Neat bracketry and welding! But look at that picture with the compressor in front of the ch***is...for a second I thought it was turning into something like a Morgan trike, with gigantic 2-cylinder in front of radiator!
How did you cut the V8 emblems in the radius rods? Those are astoundingly crisp.

    Danny,

you have more creativity in your little finger than I have in my whole body! Some of those brackets and gussets... wow. Just wow. I mean, anyone (well maybe not _anyone_) could make them, but thinking them up... too cool! :)

Thanks so much for posting the photos, they keep me inspired!!

    Beautiful stuff Danny!

What's the story on the torsion bar in front of the rearend? I'm guessing it's taking the place of a panhard bar and sway bar?

  13. One incredible build, a shame to hide some of that detail with a body and a bed.

Judging from the flexible links from the ends of the bar to the rear, I'd say it's just a sway bar... And a beautifully exicuted one at that...

Would there be much need for a panhard with the rear 'hairpins' angled that much and the spring-behind? I always thought the thinking was that a panhard wouldn't be necessary in that kind of setup?

But Hot Rod Pro seems to build more performance into his Traditional Rods than most...

you are right,it is just a sway bar.

i have found that the tension of the rear spring acts as a panhard rod.out of the few cars that i have worked on with this setup, the only one that needed a panhard rod was a 47 convertable.that car had one from the factory, and since the spring was soo soft,it needed it i guess.

    glad ya'll like the truck.

after i took the picture i saw that.it looked wild to me too.

the v-8 emblems are waterjet cut from 3/8" thick stainless.that process is soo cool.i first draw them up on my autocad program, then e-mail the drawing to the shop that cuts all my parts.this process has really helped our cars stand out.

    glad you like the progress.

beautiful work man. You ever tried using solidworks to do your cad stuff? I find it much more user friendly than autocad, then again I havent used a newer version of autocad in awhile. Got any more pics of this build? some real nice craftsmanship here.
