I think those 3 names outta sum up the style of Truck I am asking the following question towards. For the record, I detest all 3 names given to these specific builds. Just because someone doesn't want to run a hood on their truck. *It's a shame everything now-a-days has to have a f**kin' lable added to it. Why can't they be called hotrods. What are you running for a straight axle steering set-up? I'm racking my brain trying to come up with something even remotely workable...... Please help. Pictures help a great deal.

Kinda early in the morning to be throwing ugly crap like that in front of us without warning, now I have to mop up spilled coffee.
There's really only a few steering set-ups you can use and they aren't modified pickup specific. You can look at the steering of a fenderless 32 Ford coupe if you'd like... there isn't much difference other than the shape of the body. If you're channeling you'll have to research what people do when they've channeled. If you want cowl steering, well... use that term when you search. There are tons of posts and pics over the years. Having no fenders and being a modified pickup really makes no difference in this department. It's only going to get a rise out of some of the members.
Wow Even I think that is ugly as holy he11 and I stick for everything... Eeeewwwwww Okay... Moving one... To answer your question about steering, you can use the same steering as any other hot rod. Buy a book on "How to Build a Hot Rod" just do a search for that book it can be helpful.
I think we can let this go. It turned from giving him answers, to posting some bad pics and worse responses...mine included.
Why do you need to get this information from Ra... I mean "Rudy Truck" builders? Rudy's truck used a traditional hot rod steering setup... What's the point of this post?
SCTA rule book for dry lake speed trials CAR definitions: 4.H BOBBING: the removal of material from a body component in such a fashion as to destroy the original shape at either the top or bottom.
I ended up with a VW Steering Box and a nice pivot point off the frame rail. I'd post pics, but I don't feel like wading through all of the E-toughguy responses to read the encouraging ones. Thanks to those few that posted something helpful. This was actually a technical question about a pre-66 truck. I'm sorry it wasn't a, "What cool car club names haven't been thought of ?" question. I'll remember to stay on track next time, but now I have to get my weekend Greaser outfit ready and my Honda Civic gassed up.
