So I'm trying to put together a gift for my Dad. (One of those hard SOB's to shop for.) He's always been a hot rodder at heart. So, I flamed him a mail box. (He needs one anyway and I know none of my siblings are going to get one.) However, I'm of the opinion that no flame job is done until it's striped. Now, I have the tools, just not quite the skills, yet, to do a decent enough striping job. Anyone have time this week to stripe a box real quick? I'm willing to supply the one shot color, just need the person w/ the talent. If you're close to Mansfield, all the better.
    Thanks,
    Darren

The one and only Skratch is supposed to be in town on the 19th. He is taking appointments for some striping.

While Skratch would certainly be my choice over you if the mailbox was for me...... IF I was your parent, and you flamed a mailbox for me and had enough skills to actually do that, and you have one shot which leads me to believe you have some experience, I would perfer the mailbox striping be done by you too, even if it's not perfect. Would mean the world to me, as a parent (I'm not though), to have a gift like that made completely from you. Just a thought.

Cool gift idea BTW. I like gifts where alot of thought has gone into it:cool:

James Crawford over in the Garland area does some nice work. Wayne over at Sachse Rod could probably tell you how to run him down.

Thanks for all the support ya'll. Gotta love the HAMB.

Denise (hotrodladycrusr), you're absolutely right, I would LOVE to lay the stripes. However, I've tried my hand at that, and am still trying, I just know I'm not good enough, YET. Maybe this time next year.

I'll post a pic when it gets finished. Some time today or tomorrow I hope!! :D

Just got back from Frank Palmer's place. What a great guy. Can a person get more genuine? Looks like he's got a new floor sweeper too. :D Hopefully that striping improvement will come right along now.

Thanks again for the support and numbers to folks who stripe down here!

What can I say. Frank came through in spades. (I know, not a surprise.) Here's some pictures of the mail box. I just got back from my family Christmas and to say the old man was happy is a great understatement. I put the mail box in the original packaging from Lowe's and of course when he unwrapped the box he was like "Uhhh. Yeah? A mailbox?" So I said open it. He did and of course the front, all he could see, was plain white. His response "Uhhh, a mailbox?". My wife walked over and said "Clyde, you gotta take it outta the box!!" She then pulled it out and man did the Old Man's eyes go from WTF? To WOW. It's not the best in the world, but it will look damn good as you drive by it at 70+mph. If anyone is ever going between Brady Tx and San Angelo and see a flamed box near Brady you're seeing the same one. :D
Thanks again for the references and support. Merry Christmas, ya'll!
