I got rid of the galaxie, and got one of my fav. cars, a 29 roadster! It needs some work (so did the galaxe, but it runs GREAT!) Its got a basicly stock 302, c4, and 3:73 gears, It will roast them through all 3 gears if you let it. Here is a pic my mom took while I was leaving her house... The rims are vintage tourqe trust's. At first I was'nt too crazy about the angled door, but it does add atlot of arm room, and as you can tell, I'm a big dude. The dude I baught it from said he new this car when he was 10, and he is probbibly mid 60's, so this rod was built years ago. The added the 302, boxed the frame, and put mustang 2 front susspension on it, wich I'll probbily change to a drop axle sooner or later. I finally got an old hot rod! now I got to get used to cuirsing in this winter weather with no top!
i could grow to like the angled doors with the wood off em, otherwise you could just get some ones rotted oin the bottom and use the tops, and make up the 1/4 pieces... either way, that mustangII GOTS to go! hahah.. congrats though!
My guess is that it started life as a 5 window coupe and someone cut the roof off ... Congratulations on having some early iron. .
I bet you enjoy the new car more than your galaxie.i went from a 65 dodge to a 31 ford and i have so much more fun
As quirky as the doors are, I like it! Ditch the front end for a dropped axle... get rid of the wood, put a hood on it and maybe ditch the new-style Torque Thrusts for some steelies and you'll be STYLING! Stoked to see someone stoked to have a HOT ROD! Sam.
Loose the wood, add a padded, trim piece that wraps around the seat. Painted steelies. Dropped axle. Done.
Johnson, you got a hot rod. It's got some issues, but it is a hot rod. And that's more hot rod than a million other tall talkers out there! Just one piece of unrequested advice - respect the physics of power. Do some sortin' and checkin before you burn the hides too much. Growing old beats the alternative.
feels good dont it hard to explain Im offering my congrats man oh ya and some A parts if you need em, hahah where is matthews
Ya done good, boy. Now, no matter what happens in your life..do NOT sell it ever. Keep improving on it until you like it the way it is. If your tastes change, you can always change your hot rod but keep it. Most of us old guys wish we'd have kept our first hotrod. I know I do. Have fun with it!
