    Very cool. Great stance.

  3. What are the dimensions of the radiator, have you driven the car in stop and go traffic on a hot day? Does it get hot in Ohio?

Killer truck! Good job, I love it!

I do however not like 1 small detail, the steering wheel. It looks out of place. Sorry had to say it, constructive critcism...?

Steel Coupes - Steering is a manual Ranger box, small box, easy to mount, I do have some pics of the bed area and frame, I'll put a couple up.

Rustymetal, I'll get a few frame pics up

Richard D - the radiator is 18" wide by 20" tall, the thing is like 3 inches thick too. In stop and go it never gets above 185 degrees, seems to be working fine.

54Belair - the cab is originally a '35 Ford 1/2 ton, I got it as just a cab and title back late spring out in Kansas City MO.

THANKS FOR ALL THE FEEDBACK GUYS!!

Great job! That truck is looking good. I love these trucks but I am a little biased (see avatar). Never mind the haters. This is hot rodding, do what you feel. If we all followed the same vein we would all be driving 32 roadsters. Nothing wrong with 32 roadsters, I love them too. But variety is the spice of life! Great job, keep it up!

    Awesome pics!

Like everyone else said, don't pay any attention to the haters. Most don't even actually own a car!:p

  16. You got a decent future ahead of you if this is your first attempt. Great job on the truck. Don't worry what others say. Build what ya like - like what ya build.

  21. Nice job man..I really love the look of hot rod trucks. Building something like this is my next endevour after getting my '54 bel air done! The '54 is my first project at 25 yrs old..way to represent the young guns bro! What type of steering wheel is that? It looks like its a burgandy metalflake which would be perfect for the color I'm going to paint my chevy~Mojo

Nice ride. I was gonna comment on the generator too, as that was one of the first things that jumped out at me along with the stance.

Real nice car with no flaws in my mind, most especially for a young builder (Though I would lose the Autometerish looking tach).

    Way to go.

  25. Are those F1 shock mounts? How did you attatch the headlights?

I say it looks pretty good from where I am standing. You pictures are really nice, and might I add how much I like the simplicity and functionality of that dash including everything that adorns it? What else do you have planned for the ol' truck?

Yes, they are indeed F1 shock mounts. I bent them in to attach them to the frame, like Rolf did in his coupe build, then cut up a model A headlight bar and used the cups for the lights and welded them to the shock mounts, so it all looks like 1 piece, no one can tell they're fabricated, they all think they're catalog bought!

I've been doing body work here and there, I want to try to get it in paint I think, at least make it look complete.

The Autometer tach in it is actually one of the early models that still had 'painted-like' numbers and not stamped out like today, I'm still trying to find out when exactly it's from.

Thanks for all the feedback guys!

  30. How about some construction photos of the shock mounts? I will be doing something like that in the near future.
