Okay...long story, um, short. I'm finally thrashin' in the interior shop & threw my back out yesterday (two or three very SLOW moving days in the shop to come!). Anyway, I'm sittin' on the couch bored tonight cause TV sucks and until my pain killers kick in I can't sit at the computer...SO, I start scribblin' on the couch. I don't know if anyone but Little Borris is on the HAMB...But THANKS guys for your influence when I was in highschool!!! Aside from many study hall hours doodleing, it kept an amatuer artist busy tonight...Stitch
thanks guys... I'd love to build it!!! Dad has a '31 cab and parts I'm tryin' to deal him out of!!! Let's see, a NASTY Nailhead...ribbed Firestones up front and Dirt tracker's out back. A wild Z'ed chassis and ya all know I dig BIG, um, Headlights How about yellow paint with Orange '16 inch steelies???
[ QUOTE ] How about yellow paint with Orange '16 inch steelies??? [/ QUOTE ] This sounded like an invite to colorize the graphic, so here tiz... Great looking pickemup! Build it!
Killer art...now build it......and keep drawing.....Them shark nose snouts are the kats ass!!!!//////very kool!
Thanks guys... Rustin' that colored version is awesome! I may dig out the colored pencils a try my hand at that. I've been takin' notes from ChromedRat how to "colorize" so that may fill the "down time" tonight!!! As far as the scoop goes, I did it for a customer who had a very wicked '57 Chevy. Anyway, I did it as a one off and he was stoked... about a week after we finished the car, I noticed Johnson's Hot Rods was offering 'em brand new Just as an aside, when we went to Carlisle's fall swapmeet, a guy had one made from aluminum from "in the day" for around $700. It was a great piece of artwork....Maybe someday I carve another a do a mold....
Neat art work there. I kinda like the B &W one better because I can mentally add my own colors... that's just me... What do stone carvers know about color anyway? When I first read the title, before opening it I was thinking "And I bet those guys wre/are thinking Thanks to Joe Henning, Tom Daniel, Ed Newon, and H. Bentley Bradley..."
Hey Stitch, I couldn't leave well enough alone. The one thing I really liked about your '32 Coupe was them big ass headlights mounted soooo really low. As a result I increased the size of the headlights on your drawing. Another thing I like is track roadsters with those big dirt track tires, so I doubled the width of the rear tires. Next I raised the side rails of the bed to line up with the belt line of the cab. Lastly, I changed the colors for the fun of it... they make great pinstripe colors on a gray car. Your drawing is still great! It brings back memories of when you used to do the artwork for a newsletter. I really enjoyed your artwork then and I'm glad to see it once again. The next time I see you I want to subscribe to your Rev magazine. Is your artwork featured in the magazine?
Hey Tom!?!... I dig the changes to the art, and thanks for the kind words!!! I try really hard not to pimp myself in the Mag But I do sneak an occasional line art into the format! Wait till you see the next issue, we have art from ChromedRat plastered from front to back...great stuff... I'm gonna do a number 9 HAMB give-away soon, so stay tuned!!! And DrJ, you're absolutely right...everyone has been influenced by someone.
Joe...red oxide with burgundy/maroon steelies and accents!!! Man I can see an Oxblood tuck and roll interior already with loop carpet and a '32 style dash with a '50 Ford speedo.
Paint it up like 19 hole Doc Matrins (after all they "Kick Ass") I'm feeling it - get out there and build it! You might have to hide a CD player somewhere in there to blast out the Ol' Skool Punk. Oi!
