what Buick are you talking about? I don't see one Buick part, 29 Ford cowl, 30 chevy sheetmetal? What is supposed to make this a Buick?

I have been told by a few people on the HAMB that the main part of the body is a Buick. If you have any info that it is something different please let me know. I have not been able to find any information about what this thing is.

can we make up our mind then? 30 Chevy or Buick... doesn't look like a '26 Buick to me.... this does though... The back of the Buick roof looks all wrong....

This has the same body lines as the rear part of the body I have. So there is Buick part!
I found a door, cool and extra sheet metal from a HAMBer and hope to pick it up this weekend.

Wheel well looks to be different... The Buick one you show is behind the window, the body you have is under the window. Find a pic of a four door maybe. Can't tell if the body reveal is the same...

It kinda looks like that. I think the munster one is from the late 20's or early 30's.

The rear side window on the 4 doors are not as long as the 2 door. It also looks like 1922 was the last year for a 2 door in this style. I did a pre war Chevy search and came up blank as well. I have also poked around on www.prewarb..... without any results.
I just joined Antique Automobile Club of America and posted some pictures there with the milloin dollar question-What is this?
We just got back from a 400+ mile trip picking up a Desoto Hemi for a Southern Cal HAMB'r and then traded it for an almost a complete body, cowl, etc... like the rear section we already have. Tomorrow we will start to piece it together and replace the wood with steel tubing.

It is still waiting...we got really busy with life and are about ready to start it..we did pick up a straight 8 engine for it. It is beautiful! I can't wait to get going on it. It has been waaaay to long since we worked on anything.... Here are a few pics...

............Oh yeah, we also now have in the mean time picked up two 48' International Truck projects (no pics yet)........

Here is the engine for anyone interested. :)

Here is where I stand. I have 2 4"x2" .120 sticks of tubing, a 1949 Chevy straight axle that is complete, 40's rear end w/ enclosed drive shaft, enough sheet metal to build a door and have a complete body, 1938 Olds straight 8 that was rebuilt a couple years ago and a set of Buick brakes.

Here is what I am thinking:
The wife and I have designed a frame on paper that our local water jet guy will help us cut out.
Sprung over on the front with a local guy building me a set of springs that will work properly in this application.
I would like to find a small turbo charger for the Olds and run about 4-6 pounds of boost. They main reason for this is to run a very short exhaust that will be fairly quite plus I think it will look cool.
split wish bone with a single leaf spring in the back.
All of the running gear and interior will be fully painted and detailed and at some point we will figure out what to do on the body.
In the next week I will finally have enough room in the garage to start on this and I am sure the wife will be posting lots of pictures.

I would like to find 4 Chevy/Buick pattern 19" or 21" wheels for this project.

Sounds like your on a good path of build !!

I would suggest looking for a REAL frame to set it on, I Just bought a '25 Dodge frame at the Bakersfield Pre War swap recently for a good price just for the front leafs for another project.

A car such as this really deserves a Nice frame and none look as nice as an Original type frame.

Keep on the pics, Hope the body parts helped you out !
