I do, I make these little metal Christmas trees made out of steel tubing, washers, nuts and bolts. I weld them together, paint them, and give them away. I start in early November, and work at it a few hours a day. Women love them. I have made hundreds and hundreds over the years.
Yep, I gain 5-10 lbs. As usual, I'm right on schedule this year. You young whippersnappers just wait, you'll see...
Christmas Breakfast with my Mom (93 yo in 3-08) and 2 sisters while watching the kids see what Santa brought them! 48 Poncho
The ancient tradition of the Yule, the Winter Solstice is today. The atomic clock people said it was at 12:06 this morning, but that's science mumbo and we don't want no science raining on our supers***ions now do we? There's also a nearly full moon tonight. Celebrate NOW! I cooked Latkes last week. Going to Tempe again for the Fiesta Bowl New Years Party. Yep. That's all tradition in this house.
yup i fork over the dough to my women folk and head out to the shop with the dog while they shop and shop and shop ...
Get a Christmas tree and tie it to what ever hot rod I have. Wait till the very last min. to get gifts !!
"A Charlie Brown Christmas". I saw it as a kid when it first showed on television and it doesn't seem like Christmas until I watch that cartoon.
We go see the Grinch every year.. It's been playing at the Old Globe in San Diego for 10 years now. Christmas eve at my Granny's house. The kids get Christmas jammies every Christmas eve. - Joe
Seems like every year I remember the following...and think wow I would have left her at home. In those days Caesar Augustus issued a decree that a census should be taken of the entire Roman world. (This was the first census that took place while Quirinius was governor of Syria.) And everyone went to his own town to register. So Joseph also went up from the town of Nazareth in Galilee to Judea, to Bethlehem the town of David, because he belonged to the house and line of David. He went there to register with Mary, who was pledged to be married to him and was expecting a child. While they were there, the time came for the baby to be born, and she gave birth to her firstborn, a son. She wrapped him in cloths and placed him in a manger, because there was no room for them in the inn.
I sure do. Watch the standard old cartoon holiday shows, and make some tasty holiday treats. Then I'm forced to go to what I refer to as the "brainwashing house" and sit there so the parents and grandparents won't have a ruined Christmas.
We watch national lam****s Christmas Vacation as a family. Christmas morning I drag a big set of sleigh bells across the roof above our 10 year old sons room and rattle the pruning pool they are attached to along the eve. Our son knows its me and he usually wakes up and yells "dad I know thats you", but it doesn't matter. Last year he asked if I was going to do that every year, I replied "until you don't live in this house anymore and I'll do it for you kids if you don't". I bet the neighbors think its a riot, me in my slippers and sweats shlepping through the snow at 7am, but hey I'm married to wonderful wife and we are blessed with a healthy son, I don't have anyone to impress but them. s.
Okay dude ya got yellow valve covers and blower with a green tunnel ram and a red oil pan.........cool witch one did ya chow first.
I always take the sedan out early and drop several dozen bags of avacados off on friends doorsteps, take a drive down Colorado Blvd. in Pasadena, visit my Mom and Dads gravesite in Monrovia, do somemore driving, listen to some tunes and just think about how darn lucky I have been...then go home and spend a simple, quiet Christmas with my wonderful wife.
I'm the third generation to live in this house, my grandparents old home. I've owned it for over 17 years. So, for 17 years I've had all the relatives on my Dad's side over to my place to carry on the tradition of a huge Christmas Eve celebration. The last few years my Mom's side of the family has been joining us as well. There will be over 30 people this year. I feel the more, the merrier. Happy Holidays to you and yours.
I ignore Christmas, and it goes away. Works every year!! Yes, my two favourite holiday season programs are "How the Grinch Stole Christmas" (the original animated cartoon), and "A Christmas Carol", the version with Alastair Sim. I get pissed at the end of both of them when they turn soft of course. cheers Ed N.
well, im not a woman [although steppin outside in this blizzard is gettin me well on my way to becoming one] but id like to see a pic of the lil tree if ya have one! sounds neat! ohh and those cookies are dang kool to!
we always fire up my big block powered impala and rattle the neighbors windows (4 inch exhaust&13to1 compression).Ahhh the smell of race fuel on a crisp winters morn.
Christmas Eve I watch "It's A Wonderful Life" for the 1,765 time. I eat a few cookies and look at the tree. Then I usually reflect on the year gone by, the friends I have, and my two wonderful sons. I also thank the universe, no matter what condition my life is in. I realize that I appreciate how lucky I am to be alive, and living indoors, in America. This year will be no exception, but this year, for deeply personal reasons, is a better Christmas than I've had in years. I hope that all of you have a joyful season with family, friends, and loved ones. MERRY CHRISTMAS!!
Every Christmas eve, we go over to my mom and dads house and watch all the kids open gifts, and just kinda hang out with everyone.Eat till we cant move. Mom and dads house is small, so it gets pretty hectic with wrapping paper, and kids, and all the noise, I like to just take it all in . My husband and I dont have any kids so I Love to hang out with my neices and nephew and talk to them about santa ( they are soooo funny to talk to ) The oldest one is 6 this year. Then we go home light some candles, and look at our tree and drink hot coco. To all , a MERRY CHRISTMAS.
