has anyone used the hok krome paint? I am a little confused on how to leave the black before appling the krome.
Hey Jim, For ''flash time'' between coats, I'm only guessin' that that's what your wondering about....HOK Tech Tips-urethanes/polyurethanes Use the "string method" touch spot closest to wetest spot sprayed release finger and look for "strings". When you no longer get the "strings" comming off the test area, it's ready to reshoot. House Of Color Tech assistance #1-601-798-4229 www.houseofkolor.com Happy Xmas! Happy Whatever!
The black needs to be perfect..Like polished out with no dust or defects..ready for show, this way there is no imperfections that will show up when the chrome is sprayed out...
The HOK stuff I used was easier to use than the original ALSA chrome paint. ab supply has it right, the chrome only looks closer to real chrome when the black base is PERFECT. Sanded and polished to perfection. Cleaned thoroughly, then the chrome and clear go on. Don't be impatient, let the black set up, cure, shrink, before continuing with sand and buff. Still looks more like a dirty mirror, than real chrome, so don't expect it to look exactly like chrome.
