hello fellas, i have a 1953 chevy hood bird ornament that is pitted and needs repair. Whats the best process to repair the pits and prep for chroming? Is this something i can attempt myself or should i send it out for repairs? Thanks in advance for your time and recommendations...Daniel

if im not mistaken, each one of those pits has to be drilled out and soldered, then sanded smooth,,very time consuming if there are many pits,,,you probably would save some money by doing it yourself if you can find out what is actually involved in the process,,,there are guys on here that can tell you what you need to do,,,i think that bird is also reproduced by national chevy ***ociation,,,

Weld the hood up and peak it....call it done!

OR--Just buy a new one cause its not really worth the headache..
