So being a chev guy in the past i have been really into early 60's Fords and Mercury's for the last while. After selling my last ride a early 60's impala i set out into uncharted waters and looked for a Ford. Well after a limited selection in the Vancouver area i came across a 1962 Mercury Monterey. Ya its a 4 door, but with 2 kids it actually makes my life easier. It has 70k original miles, is a complete car from the washer fluid bag to plaid vinyl trunk mat. It even has a '62 radar detector! The car runs but has been sitting for 3 years. The best part is i picked it up for 750 bucks. Even came with all of the recipts for repairs since '65. I am thinking cut coils, 3 inch blocks, supremes with pinner whites and duals with bellflowers maybe. Not sure about colors yet. Anway thought i would share as for me its like bringing a new kid home. Anyone with Ford FE engine resrouces or parts sites and or supremes for sale that will ship to vancouver please PM me. Thanks!
Wow, good deal for you. I agree on the tail lights. Looks very straight, dig the early 60's Mercury grilles too.
Looks like a nice body, can't beat that price with a stick!. Run it like it is and change stuff as you go. Good luck!-MIKE
hey so here are some pics of the radar .....dont think it is factory but most likely an accessory availible at sometime...if anyone knows the year range on this thing let me know.
WOW that's a great deal! I checked out a '62 Mercury Monterey 4-door a couple of months back for $1200. The fenders and quarters were full of bondo, the front seat, dash and headliner were shot, and the frame had a 7" inch hole... that the owner didn't know about! Needless to say, I walked away disappointed since I too have a thing for early '60's FoMoCo stuff: - 1962 Mercury Meteor 4-door - 1962 Ford Fairlane 4-door - 1963 Ford Fairlane 2-door - 1963 Mercury Monterey 2-door (dad's) If you want inspiration, check out this car on hemmings: http://www.hemmings.com/users/142719/ride/494.html Tom - Glass_Packs

I destroyed one of them in my youth. Luckily someone in Ohio bought it and fixed it up. Its light tan and red haha.
thanks for the comments, its pretty rare to find a car that is complete yet solid here in vancouver, being on the westcoast its not too bad but most of em have been butchered at some point. I am grabbing some manifolds from drock6570 thanks! The 60 - 63 Galaxie's post by KIRK! was inspirational as well. I know that the same year galaxie parts can be used for most except the sheet metal obviously. All i want to do is start tearing into it but this damn christmas thing is getting in the way.
