If so what mods need to be done? I do not have the spindles off the F1 axle at this point so I'm unable to see if they will work. Thanks for any input. Merry Christmas to all! Al

The 48-52 F1s use the same kingpin and bushing set as the 42-48 P***enger and 42-47 Pickup so yes, they will fit in the axle, BUT I do not know if the built in camber of the 48-up axles is the same as the earlier axles so that the spindles end up functioning the same.

The only difference that I know of is that you dont have the option for cross steering when you use the F-1 spindles.

Not to hijack this thread,But I have a few questions along the same lines. I picked up 48' F1 axle I'm trying to find spindles for. Is there a difference in the car "round" back and the "square" back spindles? Is there only two different kingpin dia. in 42-52 spindles? I want to run cross over steering on my g***er project. Can I use bolt on arms if I can't use the factory arms? Thank Ed,

Thank you so much for your input!! I can use what I have rather than searching for 37-48 spindles/brakes. Merry Christmas!! Al

'39 - '41 "Round back" and '42 - '48 "square back" spindles use different king pins...same diameter, different length. As far as I know, the F-1 spindles use the same king pin as the '42 - '48 spindles. I dont see where bolt on steering arms would be a problem.
There is an 11/16" L.H Thd tie-rod end available that you can use to allow using cross steering if you dont have the extra hole an the right steering arm. Speedway sells them for $39.99, PN 910-02999. Ive never used one, but it looks like it should work with no problems.
