In the relative short amount of time, that I've lurked around this message board, I've realized there is no shortage of old world craftsmanship or the appreciation there-of. So, when I ran across Jeff Eischen's Model A Tub, in this months Street Rodder, thought it would be a good point of discussion. Apparently, his backround in building IMSA, SCCA, and Indy cars, was the springboard for this project. It was designed entirely on a computer prior to turning the first wrench. Having spent the last 7 years around top flight racecars, I really appreciated all the detail that went into this build. Weight is the enemy with any racecar and Jeff took this into full consideration when desigining his Hot Rod. Wish I could upload some pics, but could not seem to find any on www.streetrodderweb.com Is the future of Hot Rodding going too hi-tech? Comments, opinions?
My thought, Cad's a tool like anything else. I have it, rarely use it. It still comes down to the person using it and their vision for their project.
i use cad all the time to build streetrods on the frame and parts i make it saves a lot off metal if you did some bad measuring? i draw the hole project up first then build measure twice cut once
