    Hi Guys!
This is my very first post at this forum:)
I am looking for patch panels for this 56 Olds.
Any ideas where I can get some? Needs Floor pans and Rocker panels.

I am not interested in those cheep panels sold at Ebay.

Sorry for my English. But I'm Swedish.

I have quite a bit of knowledge of the '56 olds since I've had one since 1980. The panels on ebay are pretty plain-but in all fairness,I've not tried their rocker panels to see how they fit. Why not do what I did and get them made locally. Find a local tin shop that does that kind of work. You can get the thickness of metal that you want and made to order-just like buying a good suit.Thats how I had my rockers made. Now that I remember,I greased one of my rocker panels, covered it with cling wrap and then covered that with fibregl*** hair to make a mold. After giving the shop all of the measurements that I required, the mold was the "decision maker" on where to make those critical bends.i couldn't have asked for better rockers and they only cost me 20 bucks for two cause I had a buddy that deals with them ask for me. I'm still waiting to get a floor pan back from the local tech college that has a metal cl***. I made a cardboard pattern just like the original and gave it to the local metal shop cl***.The kids/students need the experience and I get the work for free. Maybe you have a tech college in your area.
But if you have the money-I've seen excellent '55 floor panels that look exactly like a '56 at tanson enterprises-they have all of the ribs like the originals

follow thru to see the pictures of these.Email them for your needs-they may make other parts that are not listed.I've also had cl***ic fabrication recommended though I have not seen any pictures of their work

There was also macsgarage.com but the link to them seems to be disabled.
All in all, rockers and floor pans are pretty simple in design and can be had cheaply-the real test is to be able to get them made as original as possible. Good luck and happy to take more questions-I may have forgotten something. pete

You'd be surprised how many businesses out there are still run without any kind of computers or modern technology (especially ones run by older guys who don't trust them).

  11. English is fine 56 Olds is even finer , I also own a 54 Olds .luckily, my sheet metal is fine. With the exception of the dent I put in the rear 1/4 .Check with some of the guys at cl***icoldsmobole.com I just had a new gas tank fabricated ,Some of this stuff will fit better if you take your old part & have a shop fab a new one to your specs.
