Finaly got a basic side shot of my 54 Chevy 210. There are some basic mods to it, and many in process. Shaved the trim, handles, but need to finish up filling most of the holes. 55 Chevy 3 speed and rear end, 4 inches of lowering blocks, 2 wraps cut out of front coils, floor shift and straight exhaust. Needs many more things, but not to bad for my first rig and only having it about 6 months. Next come headlights, tail lights, peak hood, lower the back more and make it so it has more than 1.5 inches of suspension travel. Now you can make up names for my tinted primer...I came up with these: mustard, road stripe yellow, baby shit green, lung butter (phlegm) yellow Geno
"'Ol Yeller" yellow. Did you get that car from Colorado. Seems like I remember seeing a similar car for sale advertised there.
I like the color too, but I also like to make fun of myself. Can't go wrong with $30 primer from Napa with $10 worth of laquer toner. Yeah I did get the car out of Colorado, and was happy I didn't have to travel far south for a solid rust free car. Too bad chopping it wasn't that easy. I just can't figure out what rear window treatment I like. For every chopped 54 I like, there I two I don't like. Who knows though. Have some 53-54 Mercury rings that are probably going to take place of the stockers pretty soon. Geno
With the top chopped and the body sectioned it's taking on the look of the Chevy that Jesse James built with the help of his friends Bill Hines, Mark Hines, Gene Winfield, Dick Dean, Norm Grabowski, Fat Jack and John Robinson Jr. on Monster Garage. It's a very cool car as is the photoshop. Jesse's car would look better with whitewalls though like your car.
Okay...finished up my mods...minor surgery here and there. Some obvious...some not-so-obvious alterations, just to get it working smoothly!
Be different and leave it the way it is..Ya did good! It needs nothing in my opinion! Dirty p.s. There is just something about the front fenders of Jesse's car i hate..I think its the space between the body line and wheel opening..It just looks off for some reason,,,but what do i know Still a killer car!
You'll constantly get waved down by people seeking a cab, but I like the paint job. Big improvement. The official paint name could be Speedbump yellow, maybe?
Most sectioned cars look the best with unaltered,un-cut through front vheel wells except fer a few Valley Custom efforts
The section on the Monster Garage Chevy looks good except they just cut the bottom off of the front fenders. I don't know if this is the normal way the front fenders are treated, but it makes the front wheel well lower that the rear. I thinks it makes it look a little out of proportion, but some cruiser skirts would probably make it look better. Geno
hell yeah good point, looks wierd! talk about a spot in ones eye that doesnt go away its like an instant fixture that your eyes just move to and stays there... sure should have moved the front wheel wells up...
I sectioned the car at the top of the page twice (two different spots)... ...also re-contoured the rear wheel wells to mimic the fronts and shortened the ass end slightly...sort of brings it all together without making any ONE mod pop out at ya!
Now here's a CAR!! chopped, but the back glass at the same just leaned forward, sectioned, slammed, shortened alittle, leaned forward B pillars, skirts, and SPUN aero disks!!!
Flexi, that's zactly what I was thinking when I saw Grimlock's post for his new SPUN covers: those would work great on a KUSTOM! Nice job on the Photochop.
Flexicoker, If you leaned the rear glass like that, wouldn't a gap open up at the bottom? I was trying to mentally go through a chop with the stock glass, but leaning it seemed to open up a gap. Just contemplating, and dreaming about the future. Now I need some skirts. Geno
yeah, i didn't really lean I guess, I "skewed" in photoshop terms, but I suppose you could trim off the front lower corners of the stock glass if you were to lean it so no gap would open up.
