It's for putting a TH 350 in a 60 Impala. It's cheap, and works great. Danchuck has this one for tri-5 Chevys, and I know someone's got em for 58-64's too. I've had them brought to me, but forgot who brought it. Thanks
Are you ****TIN ME? 45$ for that? WTF!!! OK I'm better now. I know,I know, don't shoot the messenger. Just a little hard to swallow, guess I'm gettin old...
I'm not real. Besides, the piece I need sells for $25. I can make $100 in that time, and spend $25 of it on this piece. Make sense?
Well said...or well intended I'm sure. I will say however that a powerglide column doesn't have the right detents in the column for a 3 speed auto. A 70's era Chevy van column for an automatic is a good fit though. Needs to be shortened a little but looks right otherwise. If I remember right the column mast is the same diameter as the '60 shaft. if you get all the linkage with it, including the spring loaded pivot parts off the frame you will have everything to make a nice conversion. Charlie
A lot of generic venders sell the shaft with the heim type ends, I know its a universal and not what you are looking for but it might work. I think zigs and the wheel shop in Portland carry them.
Sorry, I wasn't much help before. I think Cars Inc #2890 is what your lookin for. My book says $20.95
Thanks, I just emailed them. They don't show another one in their online catologue. Danchuck has the same thing, but claim 55-57 only like this one. We'll see. Anyone else?
I'm sure thats going to be impossible to find.....maybe you could find a custom shop to fab one up for you, seeing as how your to rich/high and mighty to cut and bend your own stupid simple piece of linkage.
If you went to school a couple times and understood my 1st post, it IS available, and I've seen them, but forgot where. But, thanks for your ****ing useless input pushing my request back to the top. They're less than $25, work *****en, and I can make $100 in my shop doing something else in the time it'd take me to make one. So, why don't you go ****ing bother someone else? It's MORE than just a bent rod. But, hey, you're smart. So, you prolly knew that
Hey, by the way FNG, maybe it's "YOU" that should be fabricating something. Know what I mean? Or does it need to be spelled out?
I'm not familiar with him/them. ........OK, found them, and no, they don't. But thanks for the lead boss
Might want to try these guys as well. http://show-cars.com/05-Clutch%20& Trans.htm I did not see it listed on this page, but sometimes the web catalog is not up to date. Eric
you spent more time with this thread than it would to make it Groucho! ,,besides, wouldnt it have been more fun
What's with all you ****y smart mouth nubies on here lately?Sorry to change the topic Groucho.I'll check with my brother in the morning he's into Impalas.
I actually won't need this piece for about a week, so I'm planning in advance. My machinist of 30 years works part time driving for ABC. So, he does my work when he can. When he gets caught up, it rains engines around here. Long story longer, I now have parts for FOUR motors to ***emble in addition to my day to day repairs (yes "shock", I'm a mechanic, no, I'm not rich). Honestly Sam, it would be more fun to make it myself. But, at $50 an hour at my shop, the customer might not think it was fun if he finds out I could've bought it for $25
