Ok, I have to choose from of these two.Plese, vote on top of this page. My 28' roadster's body's all apart. Nothing but the body which need LOTS of work, bared stock frame. The 40' Pickup that Im close to buying has 90% body work done, chasis work, its a roller, Nova front clip and Torino rearend (Argentine Torino, not Ford). A runninng 292 which I'll be swaping with my 368. Id love to have both, sure. What would you do ? Truck pics here: http://www.jalopyjournal.com/forum/showthread.php?t=230801 Roadster pics.., nothing to see but a tail, doors, fenders and hood pilled on a bunch of boxes. No trunk door. Oh, and theres the A frame. Thanks Diego
The '40 is a good deal, and I would encourage you to buy it if you can afford it and have a good place to store it. As far as getting one or the other on the road for the least time and expense, the description of what has been done to the '40 chassis would tell me that it needs basically most all the same parts as the A roadster project plus a frame to get it to today's standards. If you have all the necessary roadster sheet metal in usable condition, I think I could get the roadster completed for less time/money than the '40, the way I would build them, anyway.
can't really answer your question, as roadster versus '40 pickup is almost apples versus oranges. totally different experiences. thus, depends on what you're looking for... -scott noteboom
i would say the roadster because theres nothing like being the guy at the show with HORRIBLE messed up hair and the biggest grin ever! (and at least if you built the roadster youd know every nut and bolt and weld on that car.)
you dont make this easy , i would roll with the forty and put the roadster on the back burner for awhile , but i also agree with tman
I don't get it,,haven't you already ask this question in the other thread,,,,with the truck you will be on the road much faster! HRP
I want everything !!! but I think between those 2 I would stick with the truck. It would be on the road in o time..., weeks or o month at the most if I want it painted......
You already own the rpu, so do what I do-BUY ANOTHER CAR!! Get the 40 running and driving, piddle along w/the rpu, and have both. If $ gets tight or you suddenly got to be in a roadster, sell the 40, (you ARE gonna turn a little profit on it, aren't you?), and then you have the bucks to quickly finish the rpu.

i say get rid of whoever is making you chose one or the other. no realy if the truck can be done in a month or so thats great but ill bet youll regret seling the roadster , since you had that one first .
Hi Slackers, Thing is Roadsters "Hot rods" have no resale value down here actually.., only restored original ones. The truck on the other side would be almost stock without body mods. Just enigne/tranny swap. That has more resale value = I'll lost less money if any at all. Thanks for all the answers Diego
That is so cool... Its not just the resale value Im thinking about, arent this trucks just beautiful ?
