I think I saw some footage of this track in action at the Ct.Dragways Reunion last evening put on by the Ct.Street Rod ***ociation .There was one reel of home movies that no-one could say for sure where it wasc but to me after seeing these pics it looks like this could be it !
Any idea when the strip was first opened??....any history?? Haven't seen the links yet,...hmm,...guess I'll take a peek. Too many old strips have been shut down,...at least a few of these with long histories need to be brought back to life!!!! There's one up around BATH, PA,...cant remember the name,..has a car show every year from what i understand,...its in the middle of the woods (its now a camp ground) and you'd never know it even existed! Small little thing,..really cool! i was like "hey someone needs to buy this back and start running rods again here!!" Some old guys laughed, others looked at me like I was holding my ***** in my hand!! LOL!
The one near Bath was in Windgap, Called Mountian Veiw [The sticks]. Ran there once around 60. It was 1/8 mile. They have a reunion there every year.
Mazda is this the track that sat back in the woods a ways? There was a section that used to run in Car Craft where people would send in pics of now defunct dragrace tracks. There was one that was pictured from up around that area. It was situated about a mile or so off the main drag back in the woods. The picture showed the paved portion of the track, the bleachers on the sides and the timing tower or what was left of it I don't remember. I don't know if you can do a search on the CC web site for it. later shawn Duh, never mind the pics in your post #7 is the one I was thinking about.
Yes,I have those on DVD,great stuff. It is amazing to me to see the film form Pocono Drag Lodge.Freakin' Richard Petty raced his Barracuda there in 64 !!

It's still there, but in a much worse state. Get the videos, they are pretty good and feature a ton of commentary and info. I want to say they closed in 71.
here's some pics from the track in wind gap, pa. "the sticks". these are from the 2006 show. sorry for the pic quality (bad camera). it's usually held in august. it's just a car show. no racing. they used to have a burnout contest at the starting line, but do to insurance reasons, they had to stop doing them.
