Who makes a keyless entry setup with heavy enough solenoids to pop the doors on my 50 Chevy? I think most of these aftermarket sets are for import stuff.

Watson's Streetworks makes a 34lb pull solenoid. They have a 2-solenoid kit, but it doesn't come with switches or a remote. You can buy that stuff seperate from them though.

The other solenoids are usually around 12lb pulls, which work fine for bearclaw latches in model A's...but would never open a '50's car's door.

I want the remote so I don't have to have a ****on outside of the car somewhere. I'm gonna surf Watson's.

Got mine from a place called Gearhead. They worked on the Lincoln. About twice the door compared to the Chev'. And I'm putting them on the 52 Chev'. It's the whole kit.

All solenoids eventually cave in to mother moisture, I love me some Ball's Actuators, they never fail and they're strong.

I was looking for the same kind of setup and came up with this: I bought a keyless entry kit that has a remote with 2 extra channels. So, I'm going to install those self-popping bearclaw latches and use the second channels to activate a couple of solenoids attached to them. That way I have keyless entry and door poppers all on one remote.

As long as my battery don't die.

Try Electric-Life power windows systems and accessories site. Have a kit with 60lb solenoids. Also, have a unique door jammer that pops doors open. No, I do not work for them.

<!-- / message -->Hey guys, I'm wanting to do this to my '52 Chevy, but boy! I don't have a clue what a couple of these things are, or where to get 'em. There are a lot of "kits" available, with different ratings on the solenoids, but Watson's must be made of gold, when you compare with SPAL or AUTOLOC. Any one have pictures?
    Thank you.

i've always used junkyard 70's era cadillac rear door solendoids. you can get them from any junk yard and usually run about 3 bucks apiece.they have a two hole flat mount on them so they are supper easy to install. out of getting maybe 100 of them 2 didn't work.happy hunting.

Thanks......I'll look for one. Problem is, "junkyards" are few and far between up here, and stuff gets spendy. Having said that, I ***ume you use a "secret" ****on somewhere?
