  2. Hey Mick-
we're looking at September 18th for Pistons and Paint this year....I think the Ole River Run is far enough away to not make for conflicts....so what's up with that gold chevy from the SK500? You know the owner?

    Thanks!

Pistons &amp; Paint!!!!! This was the reason for the post, I forgot about that one. Looking for new shows this year so the Merc will be heading south. I need some info: Where? hotel rooms? schedule? etc...,

The 61 Chevy belongs to Eric &amp; Katherine Yohe from Ottawa, Kansas. Monkey has been working on him trying to get him hooked up on the HAMB. Maybe thats the problem. Picture is worth 1,0000 words.

    Happy Trails,

    Mick

Hey Mick, How come nothing for July? You not coming to Ohio in July? We'll sure miss you if you're not there.

  8. I'm going to go on the Power Tour on June 6. It comes to Tulsa on the 6th then travels north. Ozark Mo, ST Louis Mo, etc. We're gonna try to go at least that far. Also not mentioned is the Route 66 celebration June 12. Sapulpa Route 66 car show is June 5 as well.

    Hey John B,

My choice would be going to Lancaster, but we are taking a family vacation to Pensacola Florida.
My Kids are 14 and 10 and they are very excited about it so I have to be good Dad.

We leave the 16th of July so I'm sad to say it knocks out Lancaster.

Hopefully are paths will cross some time this year.

    Happy Trails,

    Mick

we are in the process of cementing all of the little details, but it looks like the city of Denton will be hosting this year's Pistons and Paint. Bubba will be putting together a kick ass music line up and of course the art and all of the vendors will be there again.

The Reign (http://reignec.com/) will be the place September 18th. (KEEP YER FINGERS CROSSED!) We've had the carpet yanked out once already this year.

I will have more details after May 30th...thanks for the support.....

oh and thanks for the info on that bad ass Chebby......

If anyone just feels like going out for a ride on a nice Saturday night, Brookside (Tulsa) seems to be gaining in popularity with hotrods, and restorations. Last year it seemed to only be takin up a portion of Sonic's parking lot. Now Sonic's parkling is always taken, with people double parked. It seems to be over flowing more and more every week. People are parking next door at the muffler shop and accross the street at Webber's. There are constantly cars going through looking for a place to park and hang out and check out the other cars. Me and my Girlfriend usualy stop by, grab a shake and spend a couple hours walkin the parking lot checkin out the cars. Its a nice way to spend a few hours and it doesnt cost a thing.

<font color="green">A little known secret is that MONKEY and I started that Sonic deal about six years ago. There was not a damn thing going on Saturday nights unless you wanted to cruise Memorial and have some punk in his mom's shitbox Honda pop the clutch and take out all your body work, I saw it happen more than once.

So anyway, we went looking for something else to do and went down to Brookside, it's where the cruising was in the 60's. They called it "Cruising the Restless Ribbon" Nobody knows why, that street is straight as an arrow.

Anyway, we stopped in Sonic to get a drink and we were the only ones there. 9 O'clock on a Saturday night, nice neighborhood, plenty of parking, lights and music.

Bells were ringing in my head. Different than the usual bells.

I just happended to be involved in a promotion with Sonic at the time and talked to the store manager and district manager about starting a cruise, they printed up fliers with free ice cream coupons on them.

    We handed them out.

And just like that, it was born.

It has been packing them in since day one. It gets slower as it gets hotter/colder, but it will pack that entire lot across the street one night real soon.

Unfortunately, I myself rarely get down there anymore.

There ya go, Chokey, the history of the Sonic cruise.

Thats awsome. You cant go wrong with that. I live right there at 41st and Peoria, so I just walk down or we ride our bikes over there. One of the guys I work with told me about how Brookeside was the spot in town to cruise back in the 60's. Hopefully the kids in the raced out hondas with th ebig fart cans for exaust will stay on Memorial and leave brookeside to the hotrods, muscle cars and restorations.

    <font color="green">Dude,

As I've said, it's been at least six years.

They tried to come down there when it first started, and were accepted, til they started doing their stupid shit.

There also used to be a low-rider club that would come down, the jerks would pull across the five lanes and block it up so their whole club could drive through.

It really pissed some people off.

The last time we saw them, they were asked not to come back. One moron was bombing through the lot with his right front tire off the ground, turning out of the lot he got on it, got squirrely and plowed the telephone pole across the street.

    I laughed.

    and pointed.

We just want to keep it low-key.

Last thing we need is the POLICE watching every move we make.

Should of seen the Gestapo tactics they were using down on Memorial to break that up.

    I see they failed.

  18. Rashy, I'm gonna put all kinds of steekers on my shit!!! [IMG] You know, JEGS, FLOWMASTER, BAER, WILWOOD(wouldn't those two contradict each other?), and every other free skeer sticker I get.

Looks like Sapulpa will have a few less kars this year with all of us hooligans gone.

Hey Keith, Did ya get the shirts? I'll give ya call later this afternoon and give you a report on the Stray Kat 500.

Monkey!!!!!!!!! Did Myers tell you about striping the toad? I'm sorry that I forgot my camera. That has to be one of the koolest toads around.

I'm cruising up to Mcphails on Saturday and hitting Starbirds on Sunday.

Things are up in the air til we get this house sold.

I have been working my BOOTY off getting it ready and the GOSH DARN realtor "FORGOT" to put it in the paper.

    I may kill her.

Yesterday was my birthday, I spent all of it and the day before on the roof rebuilding the chimney.

All the wood was rotted out and it would not pass inspection.

Anyway, all the neighbors were out in their back yards watching me on the roof, with a circular saw, in a lightning storm, and then the rain came. Good thing I "ACQUIRED" the largest tarp known to man. Had to screw it down to the roof to keep the wind from getting it. Now I get to fix those holes also. [IMG]

    What's happening this weekend?

Not sure...I need to do a few things to the 41 before next weekend. Man, damn, I didn't know it was your birthday. We need to celebrate man. We still haven't celebrated your promotion yet either. Bubba came in town this weekend and we were at Kerkers all day yesterday. Mike Lavalle came in and he also came down to the shop. It was pretty cool. We had a good time.

Anywho, let me know what's happening man. I'm kinda outta the loop.

I wanted Myers to throw some lines on my dash. I didn't drive the Merc to Rod's Shop, because he already had two cars ahead of me. I thought it would be easier for him to take it home and do it when ever he could get to her. don't care what he does just make it gotty. He can call me when its ready, and I'll come pick it up. I'm always looking for an excuse to come to Tulsa. I Also had a black phone in the box that needs some striping.... How did you like the phancy bracket work on my rotary phone? Kinda Boyd like, do you think that it is HAMB tech worthy?

Did the shirt fit? I'm getting more made so just let me know if you need another one. Also do you have any more details concerning your show the end of June? Just let me know.

    Happy Birthday RASHY!!!!!!!!!!!!

Yes the phone was there too. I felt like I was at Ma Bell's. I tried to call my burger order in.

Hashing out all the details right now on the show. We will have flyers made and will be passing them out at McPhail's.

    I'll keep ya posted.

He's right. My mom, dad, and aunt grew up in Tulsa. My folks in the mid-late fifties and my aunt in the sixties. Brookside was one of the big hangouts. In fact around 1957, my Dad's 35 ford with blown 303 and open exhaust was so loud that my mom could hear him coming across the Arkansas River bridge to pick her up to take her cruising in Brookside. LOL I guess my family terrorized the cruise pretty good. My grandfather had a speed shop at the time and his shop truck was a blown Olds powered pickup with an automatic trans (he only had one leg) and when he would get caught racing he would tell the cops that he was just out looking for his son (my father). LOL
