Well, I now know who was looking for me, and what they wanted. So without any further B.S... Ladys and gents, The Pork Chop Special!!!
Ya know... I have a confession. I really wanted a model A modified roadster when I decided to build a new car. Having owned the V8 S-10, '81 Z28, '73 Fury, '53 stude, etc. I knew I couldn't afford to be a stand out in the crowds I'd run with before. As I researched the A modified I realized that they are much more common than I thought. The glimmer began to fade. I already had a frame, but what could I do with it. Then I saw it. Sitting under a tree in the first culture rag I ever picked up, The Pork Chop Special in CKD. I started looking at rods in a whole new perspective. It wasn't long before I saw truck cabs turned into open wheel pickups, modified coupes and roadsters, and of course, those evil chopped rides with mail slot windows that made you wonder if there really was anyone inside or if they drove on their own. My project is taking shape now and I have to say it started with that single photo of The Pork Chop Special. Thanks! I'll share if it turns out well. If not... I'll send you the bill... http://www.jalopyjournal.com/forum/showthread.php?t=127505
I like it ! I was pulling the fenders off mine a couple of days ago to have everything stripped, I left it sitting there with the hood on and bed in place but nothing else.. As I sat there I started to get visions of a giant set of zoomies coming out under the hood there and going straight up.... and the bottom half of a 32 grille widened to meet up with the bottom of the 51 hood at the front. Maybe another project in the future, for now I have such a nice set of fenders I wouldn't dare NOT use them. There I go again replying to old threads.
