Ok, so my buddy and I got together, and did some cutting and welding. You see, there was this nasty rusted out spare tire well, and we fabbed up a replacement. Its a box to hold my air tanks and compressor. Its not completely finished, but I think it turned out fairly well, especially for my first fabrication project! Welding ain't easy!!

Hey nice job on the metal fab!! I know how you feel doing it the first time and it turns out good. I just welded in my first floor pan a few months ago. Oh and lets see some more pics like 40chevy said.

  4. A fine job, Indeed although I'd do one more thing before I called it done. Sometime in it's life, it's gonna get some moisture in it. I'd drill a 3/4" hole in the bottom and put a rubber or plastic plug in it so I could drain it if necessary.
    Great first job!

  5. Looks good,,,and learning how to do this type of work will be a lotta help in the future with other projects,,HRP

Yeah, its not galvanized. Its 16ga mild steel, and we're welding with flux core.. messy, but it gets the job done. My welds were pretty ugly, but theres something to be said about the grinder. I'm glad I had my partner there with considerably more experience.. Heres some pics.. Its going to go through some big changes, the plans are to get the windsor transplant done this weekend, then a little minor body work, paint. I'm really sold on the suede blue body, white flaked top, and black wheels with white walls. Then get the interior in, very basic, painting all of the trim in a low-gloss black, black carpet, and probably a simple black/white T&R upholstery. Then the bags. Hopefully she'll debut shortly before Paso, depending on funds... This is what she looked like temporarily.. go easy.. [IMG]
