I am doing a 53 F100 for a customer and the truck will be two tone ,black and champaign, and I plan on putting a red pin strip between the two colors.I see alot of scrole work on the hambs but not alot of long strips Are there any tricks to doing this so as to make them nice and straight? I was thinking of tapping the strip in and spraying it so as to keep it staight.Think free hand will be tricky. What is your take on this??

3m makes a cool tape that has many different variations...one is one line, two line, three line...you lay it down and then you peel the line off that you want...i think that made sense

    Hi
My friend that painted my racecar, paintet the stripe first (unmasked) then he
masked the red with singel stripe tape, then put on the other colours,
    sanding and clearcoat.

You can run a piece of masking tape the length of the car right next to where you want your stripe...then when you pull your line keep it as close as possible to the tape without touching it. The tape also lets you run your finger on the edge as a guide of sorts.
Or just get this stuff and paint between the lines. http://www.tcpglobal.com/pinstriperdepot/psdfinesse.aspx

  6. You left out a lot of info.
Do you have experience striping free hand?
    What kind of paint?

I would suggest the striping, masking tape that is prespaced to get a correct line if you are not adept at hand striping.
Prespraying the stripe color first, as suggested above, is also a good way.

Some brushes are better suited to long straight lines.

    Mack 1010,Mach1,Mack Belly,DC Flatliner,Grumbacher,Lazerlines,etc.
Of course, the Mack Series 10 or 20 will also work.
    I wouldn't try it with an Xcaliber,or Mack 250.

If you use the Finese masking tape, you can use almost any brush.

I am not much for free hand this is the reason I asked.I have done the paint the color then Tape it in.Did it on these flames on my T.I will have to hunt down good stripping tape. around here 3M products are easy to come by but there is a 100 different stiles of tape so if you know a good 3M produce that I can use by all means post it.I am tring to avoid sharpe edges or flaky lines if possible.
