When the Bruns built it and lopped the top off the coupe, the winshield frame was squared off as you can see in some of the early photos and the tops of the doors were still set up for glass, but I decided after spending a bunch of time looking at the car, everything was smooth and rounded and curvacious, well except for the tops of the doors and the winshield, so decided to make the decision to make it all flow and sacrifice ever running a top on her. So w/ the doors capped and the windshield frame rounded off, it will always be the way you see it now. Topless. It can get brutal at times in the rain or the middle of summer cruising thru Phoenix on the way to Cali, but hey, you know what they say, form over function.
It helped to make that decision since I have another '36 3W sittin' in the wings that I will get to sometime soon and will built in the same Westergard/Bruns style but it will have a top. Working on the '56 Desoto Hemi for it right now.

  10. My grandfather did spin out in the Black Dahlia #1 as Micheal said the rubber spacers fell out on the one side the drivers side had dropped and the car had spun out at about 75 mph he told me ''when i spun out i was facing 2 big rig trucks and i thought i was fucked''.
