Hello all, I have a 1960 390 cad mill and purchsaed a tri power manifold and carbs. originally a 4 barrel. I have the throttle linkage for new set up.What is involved in the change over? I am new to this. Is there a different distributer or vac hose set up? fuel press change? Any help would be great. Its all originall caddy stuff.George.

Sounds like a neat swap. I'm interested too. Anyone have any experience with this?

same distributor, and there isnt additional vacuum lines.

as far as dialing in the carbs-- i dont have exact procedures or specific tips. Im a Caddy guy, but have never had the opportunity to mess with the tri power.

    Enjoy. I love the setup.

I've got somewhere repair manual for '58 Cad, it's for 365 engine, but doesn't matter; that set-up has same Rochester carbs. I'll try to search it when I get back home in the evening.

If I remember right, Cadillac's distributor must be turned when that engine gets tri-power... was that 5 degrees, but which way? Well, don't remember that either, but I'll check that also from another book.

For rebuilding those Rochesters, check posts which I've written here; there is one thread with (lousy) pics. I also wrote there some numbers for Cadillac float height/drop.

    George and Carb-Otto,

All three Carbs on the 58 were basically the same size ! The 59-60 outer Carbs were larger than the center Carb !

    Scott,

The Tripower Distributors were different than the four barrel and two four barrel set ups ! http://www.jalopyjournal.com/forum/showthread.php?t=230695

I owned Cadillacs with factory 3X2s and 2X4s for many years !

I still have some factory and aftermarket 3X2s and 2X4s , and Tripower Distributors put away for my cars !

    Good Luck,
    Sonny
