Larry Wood=#1 Hot Wheels designer. He is the only designer that has been at Hot Wheels since the beginning. He is deeply involved with all things Hot Rod. Every year there is a Garage Tour of Larry's friends garage's. On top of that he's a pretty nice guy. :D

Whoa! That is the 'Skip Barrett' roadster that used to be Candy Purple and had a nailhead in it! It sure looks different now....someone should restore it back to it's mid-60's configuration. Killer car.

If you have the "Big Book of Barris" it's on page 114.

Yeah, I told the owner a caouple years ago that the car had history and he didn't believe me until he saw the pics. Cool guy that may take it back someday- but for now just drives the hell out of it. It's the car I set up to race against mine when the used them on the MTV dating show "Parental Control".

That's cool that he drives the hell out of it...I'd rather see that being done that it sitting in a museum. But I'd still like to see it 'restored' some day as well.

Glad to know that the owner is aware of what he has, so maybe there won't be any irreversible changes made to the lower bodywork.

Is the white-haired guy Larry? I haven't seen him in over 30 years, he used to be a friend of a friend who was treasurer of the Early Times. As I remember, he had some big 'ol gorgeous '30's Nash or something rodded up. Jeez- he looks as old as me.

Wait a minute- he is as old as me.

  16. No, the white-haired guy is Stan Betz.

Here's a pic of Larry from a few years ago, he's the one in the center with the goatee...

Very Cool, Is that Steve " Curly" Davis? I haven't seen or heard much on him in years. There always seemed to be a car in The RJ that he did the metal work on.

Dang it! I see the pictures from this every year and every year I'm jealous of those in attendance. It makes it even worse to find out one of the stops was at Dagel's, literally a 5 minute drive from my front yard! Well, atleast Burny and 50Fraud can tell me what I missed over breakfast on a Saturday.

The green on the first shoebox is wonderful, then the black A roadster just stopped me in my tracks. Perfect.

This thing is just as ugly today as it was the day it was finished. But, I'm sure it has nice paint!

It was a great run with a lot of awesome cars and great shops. This is one run I look forward to each year. It is amazing what is hiding in the areas all around you that you would never know of if it weren't for people like this. I really enjoyed the new destinations this year.
