Still looking for the article/series that Doc Frohmader wrote on building a 303-324 Olds. I've read that he did two series, one on building a up-to-date 394 and one on an old school early Rocket.

    I'd like to have the article on the 303-324 since I'm planning to build a '56 324 for my '49 88(originally a 76) coupe.

    I'll pay ya little.

    Thanks,

Thanks Tman but I've searched that site to no avail. I also attempted to contact someone there asking for info about the article I want. Again, no response. Myabe I'm misinformed. I did see the article on the 394. But I read somewhere that he did an article/series for Custom Rodder back in the early '90s about the 303/324.

Maybe you can ask him sometime if he really did an article on the early Olds.

I've wondered why it isn't on the webrodder site. Maybe the article is just a myth?

  4. i may be up in his neck of the woods soon, I can ask him. My engine/machinist is in the same town as him.

I have the magazines with the article, but don't remember the name of the magazine, but could be Custom Rodder?.If anyone knows for sure, let me know & I can make a copy for you.
Hey T man, you ever going to get loose for B'ville sometime?

  6. Hahahahaha, that is funny, funny that you replied here. About 10 minutes ago I was flipping through some old mags and saw a pic of your Mod on the Salt. I said to my self "self, havent seen him post in a while......hmmm wonder what he is up to?"

Made it out briefly in 02. With the new job in the last year, there is a SLIM chance I will feel comfy with my time/money to come out htis year. The main prob is the HAMB drags are always so close. I will make it back out there at some time tho.

    here,read this 1st,

    http://www.jalopyjournal.com/forum/showthread.php?t=47584&highlight=oldsmobile+324

    then read it again.
seriously,it's too much to absorb in one sitting.

then do a search for DON_WOW and read everything, and i mean everything he's written about early Rocket engines.

i have the Custom Rodder 324 build-up articles around here somewhere, but i don't know if i can get the scanner to work after my idiot nephew installed Windows Vista

Doc did 2 at the same time. A mild build for Custom Rodder & his usual wild build for Street Rodder.

Kerm Shindledecker from Gettysburg, PA built the 324 Olds Engine for/with Doc.
That engine was given away at the Street Rod Nationals in Louisville.

I'll check with him and see if he has any info from the build articles. Unless the info was at his shop it's pretty unlikely, as he just had a fire at his house and pretty much lost everything.

Thanks everyone who's looking/searching for the mysterious article-series on the 324. It was in the Jalopy Journal/324 that I read about it. It seems like it said it was in Custom Rodder, early '90s. And yes there's a wild 394 built up which is available on WebRodder but nothing comes up there when searching Olds Rocket 303 324 build, etc. I've tried numerous combinations.

All I'm thinking is to rebuild the '56 324 with a mild cam, would prefer solid lifters, adjustable rockers. It'll be topped with the E'brock OL396 and possibly Demon 98's. It'll be backed by the Cad LaSalle side shift that's in the car now.

    Thanks again.

Thanks to Lowlife for finding the series and sending me Part 1! Just to clarify where this Rocket 324 series started - Custom Rodder, July 2000.
