Man, I've wanted a flower car for so long. I have 66 Caddy he**** with a full motorized casket tray. I'd trade it in a heart beat for a flower car.
Thought long and hard about this one, offered @ $2000 obo a few years ago. If it had been closer than 600 miles...killer sled potential w/o the guilt of keeping it original.
There are a pair of '58 Cads in Euless, one a flower car and the other a he****. Looks like someone took them on as a project, but they need saving.
This '58 was available in upstate NY for years with an asking price of $1500. Most parts removed were crammed into the cab.
You learn something every day.I knew such cars existed but never new they were named "Flower Cars"I just thought they were made for when the fat cats bite the dust.Very cool, sure would like to have one.
That indeed was the intent. Flowers cars held all the floral arrangements from the funeral home to the cemetery and led the procession. The hydraulically operated stainless steel deck raised and lowered so the flowers sat level. Those flower cars with an open trough were known as "Chicago style".
This '59 S&S turned up on eBay a couple years ago in South America. After a lengthy discussion, the general consensus was that it was a one-off built by S&S with a removable rear section to serve dual duty. Interesting to say the least.
Well known wonderfully original Superior from SoCal traded hands about a year and a half ago and came to Ohio. Unfortunately, it will be restored...
As my interest in procars ceases at '60, this famous factory photo seems befitting as the last on my current computer.
"Don't let your first ride in a he**** be your last"!!! -A phrase I stumbled across while cruising he**** sites on the net. Not the same as a flower car, but related, of course. Deluxe
Nope, no one even looked at it. I did buy a donor 1960 series 75 limo for a parts car, it has really nice lowers. it'd make a good project! Dave
