Hi every one I need some advice on chopping the top. I have never done one but I'm not scared of it. The problem is my kids want a back seat but with the rear z'ed so much the seat is really high. I'm afraid that chopping it wont leave enough room for them.Maybe I'm just a sniveler but I dont want them to lose intrest.I'll try to post pics. but my computer skills suck. The pics. are from my phone so they are crappy, sorry. Thanks for any input. Joe
Chopping it would be cool. But if you have room for your kids now, leave it so the family can enjoy it
How big are your kids?, chop it!!!!!!! Just kidding, if I had kid I'd chop it and make them lay flat. In all honesty, it looks good the way it is.
I like the taller stance, I'd leave it. The kids will thank you. So many of those extreme chop tudors just look like King Kong shit a brick.
With your ride height, I don't think you could go wrong either way. It actually looks really cool like it is!
I chopped mine 5" and can admit I don't have enough room sometimes. And I don't even have kids. Leave it the way it is. Looks killer if you asked me. Good luck, Flatheaded
If it ain't broke don't fix it. At least until the kids leave the nest. It looks good now, at least to me.
It doesn't need it cause its way cool as is! maybe just a little would accomplish the look you want without giving up too much headroom? Perhaps a sunroof so their heads stick out the top?
You know it's a funny thing about kids, they keep getting bigger. I assume they're not grown. If they have room now if you do chop it will they in a couple years? Car looks good as is and like they said, you can always chop it later. It would be kinda tough to unchop it later cause the kids get too tall.
looks good as is. I have to wonder about the radically chopped cars, will the day come when people realize they are not practical and look cartoonish and complain about the good bodies that were ruined by chopping them so much.
It looks KQQL the way it is.....Keep your Kids interest up.....They can help you chop it when they get older.
We have a sedan to haul around the family. The biggest pain in the butt is crawling in and out the back seat. If you chop it, it gets worse. If it isn't fun for the kids, it won't be fun for you, they will make sure of it. Also, they will grow. Chop it later if need to. Neal
Leave it alone. Throw the family in it and go...it's great the way it is. It takes longer than we usually figure to build 'em anyway so why add more time to when you don't need to. Smokey
Thanks for the opinions every one. You just confirmed my decision to leave it unchopped. The next decision is on the roof, steel insert or canvas. What do ya think? Joe
