    OK,

If you are in or near Houston, TEXAS this coming Sunday, the first sunday of January, you are going to the Cruze "night" (starts at 2:00 p.m.)

Jimmy's / Dark Horse debate. Here is the deal...: I dig Jimmy's BUT Les, a sweetheart of a guy, who runs the Ton Up Club (brit bikes) has gone sour on Jimmy's...not sure why... and is really pushing to change venue to the Dark Horse...plus its close to his shop.

We are at Jimmy's again this Sunday and until further notice, but Late in the day I will round up some folks and head over to the Dark Horse to check it out and determine why Les has such a hard on for it... Maybe he is on to something.

    So, for now:

Place: Jimmy's Place Ice House, on White Oak in the Heights (so high you can almost see the rest of the city from there)

Time: starts at 2:00 p.m. this coming Sunday, the first Sunday of the month (always)

Duration: As long as it takes

    At***ude: cool, of course!

Attire: Clean OK, but Greezy preferred

    Talking Points:

    1) Is the quickest way to faster E.T.s personal weight loss? Time for those new year resolutions to pay off for real.

    2) Should all A roadsters be put on 32 rails or is a suicide front end just a cool?

    3) How long did it take you to figure out that the little pits in your gl*** were the result of hot metal particles from grinding hitting it....don't ask me how I know.

    4) Front breaks.... really necessary?

    5) Do copulating male rats have a "rat rod"?

All are invited, all you need is a love of hot rods for which your family and friends are planning some sort of de-programing intervention. If you got a ride, show up in it, if not just talk hot rods and all is forgiven.

    See you cats there.

I think I said it in the other thread but I'll be there in the daily driver, which is my '58 right now.

    Talking points on that one.
-Holy shiat' Houston city streets ****. There is a 2nd Mt. Everest at the intersection of Westheimer & Shephard that tried to cut my truck in two from the bottom up. And I think Sir Edmund Hillary was sitting on top wacking oilpans, crossmembers and ****** pans.
    -Shop heat
-The Zen of driving old cars.
    - How to properly give the "nod" or the "thumbs up" not only to the guy in the '65 t-bird, but to the 8 year old in the backseat of his mom's minivan.
-And we definately need to figure out this location issue.

I know my .02 doesn't count but why not try the dark Horse. I wasn't too impressed with the present but really nothing against it. Where is the Dark Horse?

I got nothing against the Dark Horse. After we have all gathered at Jimmy's for a couple of hours I'm going to round up a group to go over there. In my mind the down side is, I don't think we can stand around our cars and drink beer at the Dark Horse... which is kinda most of the fun.

Is it a inside joint? No outside seating I guess. Nothing wrong with Jimmy's. Where is the dark horse?

Good turn out. Plenty of hot rods and bikes, some guy even showed up in a 41 Caddy convertible in cherry condition...

We were at Jimmy's from 2:00 to 4:00 and then caravaned over to the Dark Horse to check it out. Looks like most of us were digging the Dark Horse, so we will be switching to the Dark Horse for next month's Houston HAMBer Cruze night.

I had a very cool time. Great bunch of guys. I forgot a few names, but I remember their cars. Wonder how that happens?:D Nice turn out and yea, that '41 Caddy was TOO COOL! Once again I was rolling without a camera. I think someone got pics, they need to post 'em.

I'll be there next month. I have 4 weeks to get my lie together for me girlfriend.:D

Oh... and a rowdy Vespa gang to boot! Gotta love it!

Damn I missed that Caddy. Bill called me, and I was already by Greenway outbound with the hammer down.

Good turnout. I'm down with Dark Horse next month as well.

Wyatts, '58 is the best looking lowered truck I've ever seen. And The Cochinos have a group of the best looking chevys around. Brad, I liked the black paint on the A. and I wish andrews 58 was stopping I also dug the dark horse and I'm glad to hear that everyone else liked it as well. Also, John asked last night if I was going to move to the city and even though Its really hard to get around and stuff seems expensive. I think I would dig it, Now just got to figure out how. Hope to see ya'll next month. Thanks RichardD

Hey gang, I had a great time yesterday and I think everyone enjoyed the Dark Horse. Next month let's start there and we'll have the car park by the building although it doesn't seem to matter. See you there ( possibly in the Buick) next time.
