Hi, I am the owner of a Hot rod shop in the U.K. building both traditional and contemporary style cars both on a budget theme as well as more periodically correct parts. My website explains this better... www.dooster.co.uk I started playing with Traditional cars nearly 20 years ago and was a founder member of the now dormant ''Low flyers'' a club formed in the mid 80's here in the U.K. to have fun and generally rebel against the shiny brigade. Anyhow , just to say hi really. GARY JANES.
"Periodically correct parts"? So they are parts that get incorrect every once in a while? Come to think of it, most parts ARE that way! Just messin' with you. Welcome from another newbie!
"Wingnutz here" "Rush chairman..., Damn glad to meet you"! I just started a car club called the "Low Flyers"...! I guess I could be the U.S. Chapter!!!! Welcome Mark
All hail the Low Flyers and also lament their demise. How come it took Europeans to recognize American hot rod roots when America's streets were being befouled by pink and turquoise street rods in the '80s?
Gary welcome the HAMB.....a good addition in my opinion with your history with traditional rods. added a pic.....see if you recognise anything here!! Kev (Swindon)
Velkommen!!!!! Good to see another one of you Islanders on the HAMB! (sounds tropical and cheery when I call you an Islander ?)
[ QUOTE ] "Periodically correct parts"? So they are parts that get incorrect every once in a while? [/ QUOTE ] Yeah most of the electricals on my BSA are only 'periodically correct'. LOL Welcome to the HAMB Gary. Regards, Big Daddy Eric
thanks everyone...32LIMEY....Is that one of my old ones?...reg. number looks familiar. As regards the 'periodically correct' phrase , if you cant think of the word or phrase....make it up !!
Welcome Gary, what took you so long.Same as Kev you came up good for me.How about posting a copy of the famous line up shot taken at Bruntingthorpe of the Low Flyers...the only copy I`ve got is across two pages in an old back issue of C.C. I can`t believe the fuss you guys caused....well done.
I would post a pic of the line up from Bruntingthorpe from the late 80's but I dont have any !! ex-wife , ex house etc. this stuff has gone ! John Blackmore , member number 1 , still has loads and he works with me at the shop nowadays , so I'll see what I can muster up. Maybe I should ask the owner of a popular CA. hot rod shop who claims to have been in the club back then , although no one actually remembers him !!! Alternatively , can you scan your pic of the line up , or maybe the triangle display from Hayling Island may reproduce better.
Hi Gary it's Marq on the hamb and Marq on the nsra site,i cant believe it took you so long to get here but here you are now lol.welcome anyway mate us limeys are outnumbered here by a large margin but the guys here are good and will be gentle(maybe). This site has got to be the best hotrod site ever for topic, advice, parts and just havin a laugh,i'm sure you will have a good time here......Marq
Welcome Mr Dooster. I've spent a few pounds on your stuff over the years when you used to sell parts from home.
