Whatever happened to the wild, chopped and channeled, orange 5-window A Coupe Kenneth Anger used in his short film "Kustom Kar Kommandos", circa 1965? It featured the California license plate KBL 852. Does anybody know if the car still exists? Are there any other known photos/magazine features of this wild Hot Rod?
The orange coupe is not the same car as in the rest of the movie. The car hes wiping off and sitting in is a 26-27 Ford coupe that was in a 63-64 Rod& Custom magazine, had a chrome interior. I was just watching some Kenneth Anger on Youtube and it got me thinking about it. I'll try to get a pic of the car on here for reference. Kenneth Anger is pretty damn wild movie maker, one of my favorites.
Dream Lover, where are you.... no really this is the car in the Kenneth Anger movie Kustom Kar Kommandos. He used a Model A coupe in the beginning then it switches over to this car. Its in the November 1964 issue of Rod&Custom. Had this book since I was a kid and never noticed it said it was soon to be featured in a movie called "Kustom" by the Ford Foundation ? Heres the book, the video and a little taste of Kenneth and his sense of humor, even though he's probably serious! Enjoy. You don't have to be gay to enjoy his stuff, even though sometimes it can make you feel uncomfortable. Hey Cory, I just saw the video and I am now disturbed for life. I cant believe how wild the car is. The man in the blue pants though is going to haunt my dreams in my slumber.
