hey guys i seem to have a lil space issue in my engine compartment and i see this being done alot so what i have is an S10 blazer chassis that i cut 5 inches off the front of my frame to clear my front clip im putting a 39 plymouth pick up on it by the way i would like to put the radiator behind the cab between the frame rails how do i do the plumbing pass the motor, trans, drive line and exhaust thank you for your input Wanted 39-46 ford, chevy, dodge, plymouth rear pick up truck fenders thank you
Did you measure before you started this project? No simple task to do what you are planning to do. Sending hot water a long ways to a radiator only causes more heating problems, and much more. Direct air ducts and dual fans and an angled well supported big radiator are a start.
i seriously doubt that radiator will do the trick.... i would suggest a big fat 4 core aluminum one (as untrad as that may be)
ok had to grab some dinner so the longer the plumbing the longer it takes to cool off is that what i got so far i mean i see a lot of rat rods with the same set up im talking about hell even the core off road trucks are running this sort of set up i just need some pointers in the right direction on this also will i have to change the filler neck to a 90 degree
I want to do something similar to this in a future project as well....I want to put the radiator in the trunk so I have an empty grille shell up front with a nailhead peeking out....so I would be quite interested in hearing what people say.
I would use exhaust tubing to run the coolant to the radiator...and short pieces of rad hose to attach it all together. Then you will need to run an electric fan for airflow. Now...between the framerails will cause a problem because you are sucking hot air from under your ride....you also won't have much room for a large radiator with the driveshaft in the middle.
found this too... http://www.jalopyjournal.com/forum/showthread.php?t=229383&highlight=radiator+in+trunk\
