I have photos of the chop as it was being done, but I don't have a scanner. I didn't have my digital with me,so we used a throw-away.I had to split it both ways and use an extra roof for filling in.It looked like a jigsaw puzzle at the rear corners to get everything to line up.I'll see what I can do to post em.
Can anyone help me out with a source for a windshield? I have a '63 fleetside chopped 3". Getting ready to paint and put back together. Now becomes the time to hunt for a windshield. Any help would be appreciated. This is my first custom creation.
i don't feel these trucks need a chop either, especially if it's a lwb. the stock cab hight is in proportion with the truck. i have a '65 and people ask if it's been chopped, but it's only lowered.
Heres mine I just bought from my buddy.. No chop.. Just get the rockers on the ground and the roof height looks good..
the ''guy'' that owns that truck is Jimmy Raider, he worked for my grandfather for awile.(that says alot; my grandfather NEVER hired anyone be4 him) i have seen gene winfield chop a top, and gene is good. ......... Jimmy Raider has the same talent with chops, he has been offered alot of jobs with big names and he refused them all. There is nothing more awesome to me than to see with your own eyes the true meaning of the word ''HUMBLE'' EVERYONE AGREE???? you will see alot more of Jimmy Raiders work, just look in the magazines
wow, didnt even know this thread was still active. this truck has now been sectioned 6" i believe. ill get a hold of jimmy here shortly and see what i can find out. this chop was done at my landlords house so ill see what i can come up with. jimmy is a great guy and he's chopping a early 30's dodge truck for my landlord right now.
I would love to see some nice clear pics of this truck... especially since I am in the midst of chopping my sectioned 61!
